| 23 Days until the GC I saw a similar title - "26 days till Poly" on a WDW thread so I thought I'd start my own for our next trip to the GC. Can't wait! Oh boy, this wait has been difficult. The last time we were at DL was right after Christmas. Ever since we moved from Orlando (and got used to going to WDW whenever we wanted to) to Las Vegas, we've been trying to get away to DL once a quarter. But this last stretch has been pure torture - extra long because we wanted to hold off until the Food & Wine Festival at DL - and we chose this weekend for specific events. But the wait will be worth it - the Grand Californian (our first stay at this resort) and several Food & Wine events are booked. And, of course, our must-do trip to the beach - gotta fit that in - dying for some ocean out here in the desert.  Woo hoo! Kathy

| Tell me about the Food & Wine stuff - I think my MIL would be interested, but I've never read anything about it. Is it in the parks or in the general area?

| Congrats on the upgrade. Gotta love those. But we did splurge and book a park view - so the only way they can upgrade us is to give us concierge. Hmmm...  Kathy

| It sounds awesome - we stayed at the Grand Californian for the first time last October and loved it there.

| I am sure you are going to fall in love with the GC when you get there. We've stayed there twice, two years ago, once each for our Birthdays, and each time was on the Concierge Level. Last year we did our birthdays at the Disneyland Hotel and this year it will be at the Paradise Pier Hotel. Then I guess we start all over again. Anyway, if you have never been inside of the GC before, you are in for a very pleasant surprise when you first walk into the lobby. It isn't large or anything, it's HUGE and there is the BIGGEST fireplace we have ever seen too. At Christmas time they place the tallest tree we seen in the middle of the lobby. Anyway, the roof of the lobby is 6 stories high and the entire resort looks as if it were made from hand-huwed logs. Take lots of pictures of the entire resort. Here's hoping you enjoy your stay as much as we did. |
