Question Should I or Shouldn't I?

I have a question for you all. I booked our trip in Feb for 5/31-6/8. I just went on the DL website and found that my same pkg can now be booked for almost $1,250 less () because of the 5 for 3 special. Should I go ahead and cancel my resv, which is already paid in full, and rebook at the new price or leave everything the way it is? Watcha think

We are in a similar pedicament but with the Disney Dining. When we booked last year they wasn't doing Disney dining for the end of OCtober for Free, now our tour operator are. My hubby phoned them and they have told us if we cancel our booking we will loose our deposit - some £1400 ($1960) and because we are rebooking the same holiday we wouldn't be entitled to the free dining offer which we think really isn't fair.

If you can cancel your holiday and rebook without any problems, I would do it as its a lot of money you would be saving!

Good luck.

I've never done anything like this, but you should be able to. I've always heard that if you call, they'll give you the discounts.

And I think even with a Magic Your Way package, so long as you're more than 45 days out, you should get everything back. Someone, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's how it works.

It's worth a shot. Think of all the Mickey ice creams you could buy for $1250!!

I think it's worth a try, but check a few things first:
- Can you cancel without penalty (or little penalty)
- Book the new vacation first! Make sure you have that in hand before cancelling anything!

Thanks for all the advice. I am so glad I called Disney. Without having to say much the CM I spoke with put me on hold and changed the resv to apply the discount. It only cost a $25 change fee. We are now being refunded $1,172.98!! My mom is very happy!! She now wants to use some of the savings for birthday surprises for my sister!! Thanks again everyone. Use the special if you can. It is totally worth it.

I think that anytime you book a vacation directly thru Disney, changes can be made, may be a slight charge, to fit your wishes. If however you have booked thru a travel agent, the changes may not be posible, I could be wrong, never have gone thru an agent before. When we've made reservations thru the Disney channels we were able to make some changes, a few even qualifing for refunds. That is one reason we never use a travel agent.

Call Disney and talk to them about it. Be specific in what you ask so that they answer the questions you have adequately. Then talk about it and decide if it would be the best thing for your group. JMHO.

When we went to DLR 4 years ago, the came out with a kids fly free promo. When I called to ask, we were not on the participating airline. I told the CM that the airline did not matter, he made a few clicks, changed our flights and we got a several hundred dollar credit! I believe we were less than a month out, so PIF. It never hurts to call and ask!
