| DVC member ? about where to stay Ok, so here is my ? My dh and I are spending our 15th wedding anniversary next May in CA. We will be spending most of our time in wine country, but want to end our trip at DL. So here is my question. Do we splurge on a concerage room at one of the hotels? (suggestions please) or do we do a villa. I know that this may be hard to answer since the villa's are not open yet, but any thoughts would be helpful.

| Well, it all depends on priorities. The villas are going to have a kitchenette, right? So, you'll have more of a home feeling. The concierge levels are going to be more of a "pamper me" type of environment. If you are looking for a "I don't want to anything on my anniversary trip" sort of vacation, then I'd suggest concierge. If you may be ready for a "home environment" after touring wine country (my in-laws love it and go every summer), then the villas would be a better choice. Happy Planning!

| If you can get a villa, I would go for one. We love the Grand Californian and, as I understand it, you won't be able to use your points for a standard room there from 2010 onwards. The villas will be hard to get if you don't own there, as there are so few of them, but that would be my first choice. If you can't get that, the Disneyland Hotel is lovely - but it will cost you more points.

| Usually once a hotel has a DVC built, you can no longer use points at the original hotel (WL,BC, etc) at least in WDW. Not sure if you could use them to stay concierge in 2010. We are staying at the Grand Californian concierge in August, a month befroe the villas open.

| From what I have heard, and this is not official, we can still use our DVC points at the GCR due to the fact that the number of Villas in the DLR over all are so limited. Not like back at WDW where there are so many more villas. My suggestion is to call the DVC Customer Service number and check with them for sure. |

| I've seen the models for the villas and they are lovely-just like the rooms at the Grand. The concierge level has food available at breakfast, lunch and wine+snacks in the afternoon, then desserts after dinner. You can see the fireworks, and the music is piped into the room where the food is. We loved staying on concierge level, but the villas will be more cost effective. |

| Just to let everyone know, the *new* villas at the Grand Californian are going along just great however, the ovly view from what we can see is going to be either of California Adventure or Disneyland Hotel/ Paradise Pier Hotel. You wouldn't be about to see much if any of Disneyland. The villas are on the southern end of the present hotel. |
