My mom made the reservations for March. The past two times she's been to DLR, she's stayed at RIM. I've always enjoyed Residence Inns no matter where I go. Having the kitchenette is great and they have a complimentary breakfast that goes beyond fruit and muffins.
Now, I can't decide if I want to give up one of those free morning meals for a character breakfast. My thought was that we would get in early on another day beside our Magic Morning. Another passporter mentioned something getting pictures with an almost empty park and I think that's a great idea!
BTW...what do they do with you if you've finished breakfast and the park isn't open yet?
Another idea...we generally book our character breakfasts for the lastest possible breakfast time. Usually 11 or 11:30. Then we take advantage of the free breakfast and the character one acts as our lunch. We don't eat a lot early, we're hungrier at lunch.
When we finished breakfast at Crystal Palace at WDW early we were allowed to wander the hub and Main Street Areas. I assume it would be a similar deal at Disneyland. It was great for photos.

Good idea. We are generally the same except for the teenager. He could eat a whole cow at every meal.
I think we've decided to forgo the character breakfast and do a character dinner instead. We arrive at 4:30pm, so we won't being doing the park that day. But, I thought eating at Goofy's Kitchen (a restaurant we've never tried) would be a great way to kick off our 3 day Disney stay. Of course, this isn't until March, so minds can change multiple times between now and then!

We've done this many times. It gives you a bit of Disney on arrival day.
