9-hour hotel offsite
I know folks often ask about the best hotel offsite. Well, I don't want the best one . We are on the waiting list for our first night as DVC for the GCH, but if that does not come through, we'll need to crash somewhere else our first night. We'll get in pretty late, so amenities do not matter. We'll only be there long enough to shower, sleep, and be out first thing in the morning. Ideas?

Motel 6 Main Gate is not that far. I was going to stay there, but used my DVC points to stay at the Disneyland Hotel instead for Labor Day last year. From the pictures it looked nice and clean. I tried to book too late and the villas were all booked up.

We were pretty happy with our stay at the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort. It was a clean, large room and from what I remember, the bathroom was a good size. We only stayed there once on our first visit to Disneyland, since then opting for hotels within walking distance (or shelling out the $$$ to stay at one of the Disney Hotels), but not for any other reason other than we wanted somewhere closer and you didn't have to rely on the shuttle. Other than that, I give it a big thumbs up.

Ramada Inn at the Park is right across the street and they are very reasonable and comfy. We stay there when we're not using DVC points.
