We are sailing on the Wonder 5/27/2013 to Alaska. We live on the East Coast. After I made my cruise plans, DH says "Hey, lets go to Disneyland" so you can see CarsLand. Dear Husband, Vancouver is no where near Anaheim.!
I had not purchased my air when he said that, but I did commit to visiting family on the outbound flights before our cruise. I calculated my FF miles and only had enough to get us from Vancouver to LAX to Newark, NJ.
I booked the FF flights right away since we were going from Vancouver to LAX to Newark. OK now I have to pay for the outbound flights. We prefer United so I booked EWR to OMA (family), OMA to PDX (family) and PDX to Vancouver. It was complicated but I paid $540 RT each total for all the segments.
I'm happy to be going to Disneyland on this complicated trip.
I booked Fairfield Inn by Marriott if I can't get a studio at VGC.

You won't be disappointed with the Fairfield Inn. It is an amazing hotel and the staff are super friendly.
Vancouver is not close to Disneyland. Its probably a 2-2.5 hr flight. But depends on what you meant by close I guess.
Have a great trip!!!!
I was just making fun of my geography challenged husband. We will fly to LAX and take the Disneyland Express to Anaheim?
I have driven to Disneyland from LAX on my own twice. It was a relatively easy drive-the hardest part being in the immediate Disneyland area (the roads are crazy). I would consider a rental for that that leg of your trip. I haven't been since 2008, but if I remember my weeks rental was just over $100.
Sounds like a good plan, especially the Disneyland Express! The drive is really not too bad at off times but mornings and anytime between 2:30-7:00pm can be BAD. Better to have a "comfy" bus and someone else (who knows the ins, outs and all of the roads and traffic) to do the driving than you get stressed out doing it yourself.
And get that man a map! It's only "close" if you count that it's on the same side of the continent!
I giggled so hard at your husband's "lack of geographical" skill that I had to call my daughter. Her husband has been known to have very similar issues. As we said...."He's so pretty". ....thank you for sharing!

I'd skip the Disneyland Express there really isn't anything special to it. They don't show videos like DME odes and there is no baggage collection service.

I have the $5 off coupons from a website and we have cruise luggage since we will be getting off the Wonder. We will either do the super shuttle or the Disneyland Express. We a flying into LAX and returning back to SNA. We are seniors and prefer not to get a rental car. We have rented a car from LAX previously but this time I want someone else to drive. DH has trouble sitting in cars, but not in a bus seat or airplane seat.

No worries I was just warning you in case you had expected the Disneyland express to be like the Disney's Magical Express in Walt Disney World. Also the busses into LAX don't have any special markings on them anymore apparently, they are just regular motor coaches.
I used it once and it spent more time going around the airport to fill up then the super shuttle van did, as far as cruise luggage goes my first trip out to Disneyland was for the 2008 panama canal repo and they had plenty of room in the back of the super shuttle vans.
