help me compare rides

How does Grizzly River Run compare to Kali? One DS thinks Kali is too intense. Is GRR more intense?

Also, for my other DS, could you compare Matterhorn and Expedition Everest? Which is more intense?

Other than the fact that there is a Yeti/Abominable Snowman in both, as well as a "snow" theme, I would not compare Everest and Matterhorn to each other, actually.

Everest is way more intense than Matterhorn. Faster (at top speed it is about double the speed of Matterhorn) longer, more advanced technology, better track. More themeing on Everest as well.

Matterhorn just might land you in the chiropractor's office though. The track is very jerky. There aren't any "drops" (a tiny slope down into a splashdown pool isn't really a "drop" ). It's one of the few things left that has Walt's original touch on it.

Although the wait times can kind of rival each other in busier times! (Good thing for Everest is that it has FastPass!)

As for comparing the River rides . . . for me, Kali seems more intense in terms of the theming. I actually thought the theming of GRR to be more "fun" than Kali's theming, which is based on the storyline of someone destroying the rainforests, but I think the GRR ride itself may be a bit better than Kali. (just my opinion, though )

Thanks! I didn't realize Matterhorn couldn't be compared to EE. It sounds like it's more comparable to BTM? I think BTM is rough, is Matterhorn comparable to BTM at WDW? One DS LOVES BTM, I don't like to be bumped around that much!

Now, the other DS only did Kali because of the theming. He's 14 and into environmental things but not much of a ride thrill seeker! (How great to have 2 opposites to take to the park!) How does the scariness of the ride (not theming) compare between Kali and Grizzly? I'd like us all to do Grizzly but not if it'll scare my 14 year old. In that case, he can wait for the others of us. That's what he does on Kali now after he went on it once. Once was enough for him!

Grizzly River Run definitely has more drops and more intense drops than Kali. I was actually disappointed when we went on Kali after having been on GRR.

O.K., we will have one watcher and three riders! I made the mistake one time of making DS go on a ride without ever having gone on it and he was freaked and wouldn't do any other rides, even tame ones! I won't make that mistake again. Over the last couple of years, he's gotten so much better, he'll try lots of rides (white knuckles them) and a lot of them he never wants to go on again, but he feels good about trying them. GRR will not be one of them though.

If you think that BTMRR is rough then the Matterhorn is really going to rough for you. Also for the Matterhorn the Tomarrowland side tends to be a bit faster and the line is not as crowded.

actually, considering it consists of two separate tracks, matterhorn is best compared to space mountain at wdw, believe it or not. but that's not saying much either. it has a 'fantasyland' side and a 'tomorrowland' side. both start at the same line, but then split (when both sides are operating).

the matterhorn was actually the first tubular steel constructed roller coaster in the world.

GRR is definitely wilder than Kali, and longer. the biggest complaint about Kali is how short it is. GRR also has different levels of extra water things (can't think of a better word) that they turn on and off depending on the season. GRR also has a single rider's line. smaller rafts too I believe in terms of capacity.
