Mickey' Toontown Morning Madness

We are going to DL 4/20. I am wondering is Morning Madness is worth the time. From what I understand you don't get into the park any earlier just Toontown. We have a 12 year old and a 6 1/2 year old and I worry that it's too young for them and that we'll waste an hour of our touring plan. Any advice?

We loved it when we went in January(no kids on our trip). We were able to do both rides multiple times, tour all the houses, meet Mickey and Minnie and see the little show they put on in under an hour! I think it's a great way to experience everything in Toontown without the crowds.

It was OK. I guess if you have the time to do it, I would recommend it. You do get a cool pin

Here's my comments from our trip report - we went Monday, May 21:
--------------
As soon as the park opened, we cruised right back to Toontown, as we weren’t sure quite when the Morning Madness show started. We had plenty of time – as it was scheduled for 9:20. Scott took pics of the nearly-empty area while we waited; we also got photos with Goofy and Chip & Dale.
Morning Madness starts with a little show in front of the Toontown City Hall – the “Deputy Mayor” comes out & says a few words, then Goofy, Donald, Chip & Dale and finally the First Couple of Toontown, Mickey & Minnie come in. Mickey gives a little speech (after accidentally reading his grocery list first!) and there’s a song & dance. Cute & energetic… they hand out buttons afterwards declaring the attendees as “Honorary Members of Toontown”.

We still had about a half-hour before this part of the park opened to the public, so we rode Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin as a walk-on, played with Pluto over by the dog pound (very cute photo op!), rode Gadget’s Go-Coaster (very similar to WDW’s Toontown coaster) and had one more spin with Roger before 10:00.
------------
If you're into the characters, or want a short-to-no wait on Roger Rabbit's CarToon Spin - I'd definitely recommend it. Video of the show can be found at Paul Barrie's A Window to the Magic website: WindowtotheMagic - Podcast - go to the archives for Sat, 3 February 2007.

As soon as the park opened, we ran to Toontown area, Where they let you in it was a mess only one poor cast member trying to collect tickets and let in throngs and throngs of angry people. Everyone was angry because it took over 45 min to stand in line just to get into toontown however once you got in you could have rode the rides or find your fav character for pics and autographs. Then the Disney employees patiently waited until everyone was in the park before starting
Morning Madness in front of the Toontown City Hall they hand out buttons afterward the show declaring the attendees as “Honorary Members of Toontown” So I dont know if its worth it because you are missing time in the general park but my daughter who is 2 loved it

Tickets for ToonTown Madness?

I am a little confused about ToonTown Madness? Do you buy tickets for this? or can you get in with an Early pass and head over to the ToonTown Madness?

Any advice for a 1st timer to DL would be great!

Toontown Morning Madness is a perq for staying at a Disney/Good Neighbor hotel & booking thru Disney (or a Disney travel agent) - you get 1 ticket/person as a part of your package. There is a CM taking tickets at the entrance to Toontown, which normally opens 1 hour after the park.

Hope this helps!
