We were there last October. The line 15 minutes after park opening was already 90 minutes long. We hopped in line around 4:00pm with a posted wait of 45 minutes, the wait was actually more like 30. Anyway I asked the cast member loading the subs the best time to ride. He said the shortest waits are between 3:00pm and 5:00pm. He said it was worst in the morning. I don't know if this is always true, but we did check the remaining days of our trip and he was right. We plan to follow his advice this October. Good Luck, I think the ride is awsome and worth a hour wait.

We go to Disneyland 2-3 times a month since we live 15 minutes away and have annual passes. We usually get to the park in the early morning and go directly to the Nemo ride to check the line. It has always been long, usually over an hour. And it doesn't seem to matter what day of the week or time of day it is (it's even crowded during parades when most ride lines lighten up). We put it off for months and months hoping the lines would get better, but they haven't yet. We did get on the ride in February, deciding it was time to just deal with the wait. It was so worth it! It's awesome! We still go back to that ride first thing everytime we go, hoping it will be shorter. We'll keep trying, but will probably deal with the wait again sometime soon. It's too good of a ride to put off forever just because of the line.

My only suggestion would be to be at the ticket entrance right when the gates open and rush to the ride. We usually arrive 30 minutes after park opening- it always takes more time than I think it will to get my kids up and out the door and to park in Mickey & Friends! At that point the lines have already formed.

I agree, they definitely should make it a FastPass ride. Good luck!

Great Question!! The Submarines are on our must-do list for our upcoming DL trip! Nice having a heads up about the lines!

My DW and I are at DL this weekend and as we went past Nemo, the line was still long, about 1 hour 15 minute wait. This was about 11:30 am Sat morning. Not expecting much shorter lines today, Sunday. The crowd level is about usual for a weekend but yesterday it looked like rain for much of the morning but then cleared up some what in the afternoon.

We rode Nemo tonight. We were in line about 30 minutes. We watched the Parade of Dreams near IASW and then ran over to get in line for it. It wasn't so bad.

There's nothing similar at WDW. WDW used to have 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but that's long gone (it got Pooh'd away).

I only have pictures taken from the outside. It tends to be too dark and you get a reflection if you try and take pictures from within the sub itself.

It is somewhat similar to The Seas with Nemo and Friends at WDW, but instead of riding clamobiles through an aquarium you're in a submarine and actually under water looking through your porthole. I've only been in The Seas with Nemo and Friends once and remembered it being dark and a little hard to see the action in certain areas. I did love the fact that you could actually see live fish swimming around w/ Nemo and pals. To me the Subs are better.
I loved the subs as a little girl back in the day, which is one of the reasons I love Nemo's Submarine Voyage . My DS 3yrs loves this ride too. He's a big Nemo fan.

We were there 2 weeks ago. I always check first thing and it is always busy 1hr + It's too hard for us to rush over there w/ a 3 yrs old. We usually ride during parade time and have had short waits. This trip we went 1/2 hour before closing Thurs and waited 17 min. And the same time Fri and waited 23 min.

Is there a particular reason they won't Fastpass this ride? It just seems strange that a ride so popular would not be considered for FP.

One of the things noticed was the ride was pretty slow loading and unloading. I wonder if as time passes they might find a quicker way of loading the ride. The spiral staircases into the subs are tricky, especially for little ones and the less mobile. It looked like only three subs could dock at a time. They needed to unload, load and then the hatches needed to be closed.

I liked the ride but I'm not sure I'd wait an hour for it. We waited about 25 minutes and that was fine. I thought it was a little better than Nemo at WDW because of the sub aspect and I think young children-pre-schoolers until about 7 would think the sub ride in itself was very cool. I actually though you got better views of the fish at WDW. I was the first one on the sub and so at the end of the row. I, being a nosey type also didn't like that it was difficult to see what the other side was seeing.

I read that the reason Disneyland cannot FASTPASS this ride is becuase of the loading and unloading of the ride.

We were there last week from June9-16 and everyday the wait at the shortest was 45 minutes and longest about 90 min.

We were able to get on the first sub of the day on one of our early entry days. It was a fun ride but I wouldn't wait for 90 min. If you can get into the park on early entry and are in live pretty quick you will have about a 20-30 min wait but by the end of the hour it was approaching 45+

So that you won't feel left out, what you see on your side of the sub is EXACTLY what those on the other side are seeing and at the same time.
