We were talking to a Disney MonoRail Cast Member here at Disneyland abou\t thisw yesterday and he said that to the best he knows WDW is not slated for new units for another couple of years.
In fact he said that those at WDW are much newer than these out here and they are about 8 to 10 years old.
The way he and another were talking, Disney rotates between the two locations with new Monorails so WDW is next but in a few more years as they are in the process of designing a newer model.
Please keep in mind, this is rumors and not fact flooding about between cast members.

Here are 3 photos I took today of the NEW MonoRail as it was sitting in the Downtown Disney Station during it's trial runs. They had this one running all three days that we were there but still were not allowing guests to board it yet.
I would have made them bigger but wasn't sure how to go about it.

we saw it today. looks so cool. we asked a cast member as to when they'd be open to ride vs. the current testing. he said not until December! hard to believe it would be that far out. he said they're working through some glitches. fingers crossed for earlier. we're at the park quite often, and will keep asking about when it will open. if we hear an earlier date, I'll post it here.

I am sure they will decorate it up Disney style. Like the current monorail at WDW....they seem to make it fit into the YOAMD theme and such. I don't think they have put the finishing touches on it yet and my guess is they will probably theme it toward the next Disney Campaign since it isn't due out til the end of the year. Just my guess......

I think most people here are forgetting the original concept behind the first monorail.
It was the "transportation of the future" and has always had 'streamlined futuristic' features to it. The bullet nose and tail are not new.
I for one, who has been a Disney fan, like the new Mark 7 and can't wait to ride on it.

Thanks for posting the picture! I was just there in DL three weeks ago and kept looking for the monorail, and didn't see it anywhere. I figured it was still being worked on way out of sight from the guests.

We saw it also on Memorial Day. It looks really neat! It has the same style as one of the old versions but much sleeker this time around!

Thanks for the pictures. I absolutely love it! We are not going to DL for two years so I am sure the new ones will be up and running by then.
