How about Father's Day (6/14/)

Does anyone have any experience with how crowded DL or DCA is likely to be on Father's Day? I'm thinking that it might be a good day to go, not too crowded, but I could be VERY WRONG! What do you think?

WOW, that is a good question. Based on the fact that it is a weekend AND school is out...I would suspect it would be crowded. Maybe someone will come along who has been there on this particular holiday.

BTW, I LOVE your signature photo!!!!

Firefall in Yosemite...

The photo of Horsetail falls in Yosemite is completely natural!. There are several evenings only in February each year where the direction of the setting sun illuminates these falls making them look as if they are on fire. You need a clear evening without clouds and the illumination is only present for a few minutes on each night. Truely a rare phenomenon.

Many years ago, there used to be a 'show' at Yosemite called the Firefall. This was a man made event whereby the park built a bonfire at the top of another fall in Yosemite and after sunset they pushed the bonfire over the falls causing a pretty spectacular sight. They no longer do this so the only remaining firefall is all natural.

Thanks for noticing.

we were there on Mother's day and will be there again tomorrow for father's day. it does get crowded, but i don't think it's height of summer crowded yet. some local school districts (ours included) are still in school through next week. We're going to try to get to Disneyland first thing and hit our favorite rides. After that, we head over to CA Adventures which is typically less crowded and lines are shorter. The busiest areas we noticed last time we were there in late May were the Nemo ride and Adventureland. there's a lot of activity associated with the New Indiana Jones movie and Pirates is popular as ever. for Mother's day, they gave out carnation corsages for all the moms, i wonder if they'll do something special for dads? hope so! good luck tomorrow. even with crowds, i can't think of a better way to spend father's day!

oh my gosh! we're going to Disneyland on Father's Day every year from now on! it was surprisingly not crowded. it could have been a midweek day in February! longest wait was Nemo at 40 minutes. everything else was under 15. we did so much and the weather was perfect! had a great day.

Just a report back...My family and I went to DL and DCA yesterday. We got there about 1PM. Weather was beautify and crowds were very manageable! Longest wait for attractions like Nemo, Splash Mountain and Soaring over California, but most attractions were a 5-10 minute wait. DCA was even lighter. We had a great time and I think like SoCalDCAfan, we may make this an annual event as well!

We were there on Father's Day as well and loved it! Very little crowds. We were able to hit all the rides we hadn't earlier in the week! Great time to go!
