Toy Story Midway Mania

We just got back from spending 4th of July weekend at DLR. Experiencing TSMM was a priority for DH this trip and we ended up riding it 12 times in the three days! It is a lot of fun and very addicting as you can tell! Sorry to say DL didn't put in fastpass for it but when the single rider line was open, it was much faster than the regular line. You wear the 3D glasses and get spun around a lot on your way to playing 5 different games each time. They keep track of your score as you go along so the compitition was on between DH and myself. We would highly recommend the ride!

What were the wait times on the regular line like?

My parents, sisters, DBIL and niece are headed down for a few days in a couple of weeks and mentioned they'd like to try it out . . . whether they do or don't wait (with a 2 year old ) will pretty much depend on the wait times. I think they said they were doing the parks for 3 days . . . only ONE at DCA . . . and 2 of the days will be weekend days (despite my warnings that with regular summer crowds and locals coming in on the weekends, they are liable to be waiting longer for some rides)

My mom is pretty much impatient and doesn't like to wait for ANYTHING, but the rest of the party said they'll wait . . . no more than an hour.

Will I be bursting their "waiting no longer than an hour" bubble?

Longest we waited was an hour. Shortest was 25 min. My recommendation is not to do it first thing in the morning - that is when the line was the longest and then it got shorter as the day went by. 4th of July was crowded but Sat. and Sun. were not too bad crowd wise.

I went on Saturday, July 5th, and had good luck getting on the ride. The park opens 1/2 hr early in the front section. We got in line for the ride near Grizzly Rapids. 10 minutes before official opening, the line started moving at a leisurely to the ride. We were on the ride at 10:15. (Park "opened" at 10:00.) After the first ride, we got back in line and waited about 35 minutes. Not sure why they 5th was really not that crowded???
I got to go to the AP sneak peak a few weeks earlier, and we rode it 7 times in 2 hrs. Woo hoo! It's so addictive. And pulling the ball on the string to shoot is so much more comfortable than shooting on Buzz Lightyear.

We rode this two weeks ago at WDW---- loved it!!!!!!! I'm so glad you got to ride it 12 times!!!! Lines were too long at Hollywood Studios. We waited almost 2 hours to ride (we didn't get there early enough for a fast pass-- we were sleepyheads, and I think we got there by 10am, but the fastpasses were already for 8pm that night, and we were going to a different park).

Does this ride spin on it's own, or do you control the spinning? I have motion sickness so if the cars spin, I'll be quite miserable.

I don't do well with 3D. It's a motion sickness thing. But, I think I'll put up with the sour stomach to give this ride a try. Thanks for the report!

The cars spin on its own to take you to the next game... I didn't find it being troublesome as you are so focused on the game

The vehicle gives you a few quick spins before you enter the doors. It made me a little queasy, but it quickly passed.
