Tink in FantasyLand

Has anyone been to the new fairies land in fantasyland? I am a HUGE Tinkerbell fan and can't wait to meet her and get my pic taken. What's it like?

Been There

Last month! (Can't believe it's been a month!) Photo op with tink & at least one of her pixie friends. The que is nicely themed, though Tomorrowland is visible during most of the queing. We waited 30 minutes. I don't think I would have waited any longer than that, but then, I don't have little ones who adore Tink and her friends. It was worth it to satisfy our curiosity and have a little first hand info. If you love Tink, then do it. If you don't care about photos with her, then pass it by.

The area has giant leaves underneath, so it's like you're below the grass. But for the life of me I can't remember what Tink's "backdrop" is -- a house? A flower? (I'm thinking teapot, but maybe I've spent too much time in the toy dept. )
In Feb we waited more than 30 minutes in the rain to meet Tink, and just as we arrived, her fairy friend left. Grr. So it was just Tink for us.
The line is cute -- little bronze fairies hidden in the bushes and around the rocks. DD could name them all.
I was a little disappointed in the que -- it didn't "progress" in size like I'd expected it to. More like, bam! you're there. But still fun to meet Tink if you want to.

Here are some pictures - it's a link to my DLR trip report from December. I've linked directly to the 2 posts that feature Pixie Hollow.

Thanx so much. Those pics were great. I am really excited but my mom thinks I'm nuts. I'm 26. Just turned on Monday. Everytime we go to Disney I have to get something Tink. My sis got me Tink the movie for Christmas and I haven't even watched it yet. I need to before we go. I have so many figurines of her and am really looking forward to meeting her. I don't care how long I have to wait in line. Thanks again everyone.

We went there in October, just a few days after it opened. The lines were really long. We went there immediately the park opened and still had a 15 - 20 minute wait. It was a lot of fun, although on a hot day, I can imagine it wouldn't be much fun, as the line is outside.

But meeting Tink was another one of those things that make me realize Disney thinks of everything. We were at DLR in Feb and Tink was wearing what can only be described as her "winter outfit" -- a quilted jacket. Very Tink, but warmer than the outfit we all think of.
We've been to WDW in Dec and May and I noticed how the princesses dresses were different for the holidays (brocade instead of satin) but I never thought of Tink needing seasonal clothes.

I loved all the little details, and Tink was just as I expected her to be. It's been one of my favorite Disney moments. We were lucky enough to visit her on opening day. The line was crazy long in the morning, so we watched the afternoon parade right next to the entrance of the queue, and then as the parade ended we hopped right in to line and only had a wait of 15 minutes or so.

The wait hovered between 45 minutes to an hour the day we were there. The cast member said it was really closer to an hour even when it said 45 minutes. I wanted to go when we walked by midday and saw it at 30 minutes (the shortest that day according to the C.M.) But we had a priority seating and the rest of my group vetoed me. Plus we had waited close to an hour for the Princess Faire and I don't think my little birthday princess could take another hour wait. The character greeting 'attractions' move so much more slowly than the ride lines and its a lot to ask a preschooler. So next time we will make a be-line there the minute it opens. OR before! It opened an hour after park opening. A reason to go back

We wanted to do this yesterday, but the crowds were insane, and the wait was over an hour, so we skipped it.

Where exactly in Fantasyland is it? We tried to find the area a few weeks ago - but with toddlers we kind of missed i t- they were MUCH more interested in the Carousel!!!

It is not really in what I would call Fantasyland but more near the entrance to it. It used to be the Ariel character greeting area but has been made over. So its to the right of the Castle if you are coming up Main Street-- sort of tucked in betw. Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

If you go to the right of the hub, but follow it around like you are circling back to the castly, you won't be able to miss it. You'll see lots of giant grass blades that hide the actual hollow. Most don't notice it unless they know where to look for it because they either go into Tomorrowland (and then the back way into Fantasyland) or they cut through the hub to go to the castle.
