Crowds in late May/early June

I was wondering if anyone knows how the crowds are in late May/early June. I am trying to plan a trip to CA and planning a couple of days at DL and CA. I know we will go in the middle of the week, so I am hoping that will help. The last time I was at DL was New Year's Eve 1997 and for it being NYE I didn't think it was awfully crowded. Now with CA I am wondering if crowds are bigger now.
TIA for anyone's help.

I don't think that the crowds are all that bad during the time frame you are asking about. You must remember that we have year round school so there will be lots of kids ANY time you go. There weather can be almost anything you want it to be. Morning clouds or sunshine, cool or warm. Evenings cool or warm. We're California and some of us old timers have a saying, if you don't like the weather, just wait a second or two, it may change. LOL. To cut to the short, I think the time frame you want to know about would be a good time to pop on out here and have a go at Disneyland,

With the way Disney has changed since the new millennium, I'm not sure you can use '97 as a comparison. Heck, the crowds exploded in 2005 for the 50th and haven't come down since!

But, going by crowd patterns, you'll find it decent to visit in late May. I'd stick to May, if you can (we used to go at beginning of May, before switching to Dec). The schools in SoCal are year round, but other schools will still be in session, so family vacations haven't started yet and at least 80% of the students will be in school during the day (if it's a 5 track system like we have in Vegas). By June, schools have started getting out (we always get out about a week after Memorial Day, June 4 this year) and family vacays have begun.

So, it's not going to be crazy summer crowds, it's not going to be really hot (but it will be warm/hot). But, it's also not the slowest time (October, December before Christmas week).

I normally avoid that time of year at all costs from past experiences. But this year, we were at DLR on June 11 - 12th. Suprisingly, we were able to hit every major attraction at both parks. Yes, there were larger crowds than I am used to, or like , but I just really planned out my FP strategy and it was fine. And they even closed DLP early to the public on the Thursday we were there, because they were doing a presentation of the new Nightastic Show for a bunch of famous people. So yes, I think it's do-able.
