We had problems with the hotel, they were doing refurbishing ( i know it has to be done) there were rolls of wallpaper everywhere and carpet it wasn't good. The concierge was really, really rude and they weren't helpful at all. My dd who turned 1 during the trip fell in the park and was hurt pretty bad.( she triped over uneven pavement,my DD7 also tripped in the same spot but wasn't hurt.) We had to go to the ER which is scary anyway but in a diffrent country takes it to new heights. They dropped us off at the front of the hospital and said call when your ready. I felt like more could have been done. It was just a bad trip and we are used to WDW. DLRP is not WDW, I know this but I was expecting more. When we got home and i talleyed up all the costs we could have gone to florida. I would like to go back again but my DH is jaded now and he says never. I am planning a sneaky trip with my DD next year.

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I've been to DLP several times and while I agree that it's not WDW as far as service and magic is concerned (not by a long shot), I still love going there. My DH, on the other hand, - not so much He mainly agrees to go to WDW in Florida because of the sunshine

Anyways, I hope that if you do manage to go back with your DD you'll have a much better time.

We were at Disneyland Paris in August 2007 for 2 nights and stayed at the Newport Bay Club. Our previous visit had been in 2004 when we stayed at The Sequoia Lodge, which we liked better. The 2 parks are small compared to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim or Walt Disney World, but they are growing. There were many new areas and attractions that had been added in the 3 years, and they were building more. We were at the beginning of the 15 Year Celebration, so there were special parades and events. If you do not have a car, you will probably want to stay at one of the resort hotels so that everything is in walking distance or you can take a resort bus. Word of caution - the Davy Crockett Ranch did not provide bus transportation to the parks when we were there. If you are arriving by train, the station is very conveniently located between the resort hotels and the parks. It's nice if you want to escape to Paris for the day as the trains run frequently. Just a few observations: the breakfasts included at the resort were good; be prepared to walk and almost all the cast members spoke English, so communication was not an issue. Have fun!

Whilst the resort is fairly small, the Disneyland Parc, is the biggest of the "Magic Kingdom" type parks.

The Studios however, is miniscule!!

The Sequoia Lodge is my favorite hotel at DLP so we'll be staying there again this December.

I was gonna say the same thing. The Disneyland Park may seem smaller than the one in California because it has fewer lands but in fact it's just divided up differently.

The Walt Disney Studios park is still small but has grown A LOT in the past few years! With recent additions like Crush's Coaster (a wild-mouse type thrill ride, very ), Cars Race Ralley (think Tea Cups ), and the Tower of Terror, it's finally getting its fair share of attractions! Crush's Coaster and ToT are my two favorite rides at DLP

I think you were right to expect a bit more lakelandcallsme - it was the Disneyland Hotel after all which is supposed to be top of the food chain and it's pricey.

To be fair I had a good experience staying there, and it's a great location. We got absolutely spoilt by the staff in the California Grill - on top of our own dinner the server kept bringing little tastes of other things to our table, and at the end of the meal we were given a plate of gorgeous chocolates with our coffee.

Just back. In Paris for a week and made a day trip to DLP. Loved it! Nothing can top WDW for the size and variety of what's there, but DLP has some awesome stuff. The Disneyland side is fantastic. Overall, for the most part I actually liked it more than the Magic Kingdom. The studios side is still a bit barren, and not nearly as well themed. But Crush's coaster is AMAZING! They have to find a way to incorporate that technology/ride into WDW with another theme or whatever. So much fun. I'll have a few pics and try and write something up this week, but I thought it was great. And couldn't be any easier to get to from Paris.

Isn't it? It's one of my two favorite rides in all of DLP (besides ToT )!

Probably... It's a really smooth ride (not nearly as bad as Space Mountain, for example) but it still is a wild-mouse type roller coaster after all It really depends on how bad the motion sickness is. I have trouble with motion sickness on the Tea Cups, for example, but I'm fine on roller coasters like Big Thunder Mountain. I did not get dizzy at Crush's Coaster at all. Hope this helped!

Yeah it depends on how easy you get sick/what makes you sick. I don't do the teacups anymore, and I haven't ridden Mission Space yet cause spinning can get me. I was totally fine on Crush. It's really smooth. Not super intense, not super fast, doesn't go upside down, but it's seriously A LOT of fun. We waited 75min for it, and it was more than worth it. Couple quick things we learned...

In the Disneyland Park, use your FastPasses for Big Thunder and anything in Fantasyland.

Big Thunder is really popular. I'd say the hottest ride in the Disneyland Park. 60min wait times right up until maybe an hour before park close. That and every ride in Fantasyland (just like all the parks)

Space Mountain never had an unreasonable line (40min max on the board at mid-day peak-time...which really turned out to be only a 30min wait). Pirates, Mansion and Indy all had long lines middle of the day (60min+), but dropped to maybe 20min or so after 6PM.

Hyperion Cafe in Discoveryland was great for burgers. Lots of tables. Cowboy Cookout in Frontierland also has tons of seating. Didn't have time for a sitdown meal but the atmosphere at Blue Lagoon (inside Pirates) looked fantastic. Not sure about the food/price, but the theming is top notch. If we had time for a sitdown, it would've been there.

In the Studios Park, Rock n Roller and Tower of Terror lines weren't bad at all. 20-40min most of the day (35min max at RnR and 60min max at ToT...but an hour later TOT was down to 20min). If you FastPass at the Studios, Tower seemed like the way to go, but the wait times really did vary a lot (we FastPassed it...when we went back for our time the line was only 20min). Everything else in the Studios had zero lines. Except for Crush

Crush doesn't have FastPass (though I guess they've been experimenting with adding it...it wasn't up for us though). Had 90min wait times 90% of the day. About 2 hours before park close it dropped to 75min. Was totally worth the wait. Can't say enough about that ride.

Walking between the parks is super easy. They're right next to each other. We crossed back and forth 3 times through the day.
