| What's your favorite DLP hotel (Disney or non-Disney) and why?

| We really liked the Newport Bay when we stayed there, but I also want to try the Sequoia Lodge, as that looks like a neat place to stay too! ![]()

| I've stayed at the Sequoia Lodge and the Hotel Cheyenne. Out of the two I preferred the SL - but then again it was more expensive. I'd love to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. I believe if you stay in the Castle Club, you can take an elevator straight into the park from the concierge suite.

| We stayed at the Newport Bay hotel in March, on the Admirals' Floor (concierge level) when we went to DLP. We have *never* spent so much money for a hotel (and we've stayed on the concierge level at the Polynesian at WDW) before. We were totally disappointed with the Newport. Our room was sparse. The sofabed that made it a 'family' room was unbelievably uncomfortable. The wallpaper was peeling in several places. The curtains sagged off the rods. There was really yucky mold in the bathroom. The toiletpaper holder fell off. The pool was small, uninteresting, and really noisy. The kids weren't allowed in the hot tub. I had made some dining reservations and other requests before we arrived, and those were messed up or wrong when we arrived. It was like staying in a really crappy motel, not what we expected a high-end Disney property to be! We would never, never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. We moved to an offsite hotel, the Explorers Hotel, for the days that we went into Paris. Oh, what a difference!! We absolutely loved the Explorers! Everyone had an actual (and really comfortable) bed. The themeing of the hotel was terrific, and the kids loved it. Their pool was fantastic and there was an inside play area (handily by the bar!). The cost of three nights there was about a third of what it cost us for two nights at the Newport. We were REALLY sorry that we didn't stay at the Explorers for the entire time we were in France. We would go back to the Explorers again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone, especially people with kids.

| We have stayed at Newport Bay, Sequoia Lodge and Hotel New York. Of the three Hotel New York is my favourite, the staff were very friendly and professional, the location is excellent, right next to Disney Village and the rooms were very nice. I would thoroughly recommend it. ![]() Last edited by BritDisFan; 11-08-2007 at 11:52 AM.. |
