Hi! We're taking our first Disney vacation in early March with 2 kids, who will be 7 1/2 and 5. I'm debating what to do about a stroller. Rent, bring, single, double, or skip it all together. We'll be there for 8 nights. They'll probably want to walk quite a bit, but as the day and week goes on will probably want more breaks from walking, especially the 5 year old. For people with kids around the same age, what are your recommendations? Thanks!

We will be taking our two lo's to WDW in April for their birthdays (2 days apart). My ds - turning 5 - will be going to The Pirate League for his birthday. I am considering taking my dd - turning 3 - to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. My dh thinks it is a great idea, but I'm just not sure if it's worth the $ for my 3 year old. She does love the princesses, I'm just not sure if it's the thing for someone so young. Anyone have any input? Has anyone taken their lo their at this age?

so I finally decided on buying two cheap umbrella strollers for DS4 and DS6 for our next trip instead of renting when we get there. but when i started to look around, i noticed the weight limit is about 35 pounds! my two are little guys but still a good 10 pounds above that limit. does anyone know if this will still work? this is our first time to the World without using a big, heavy (but durable!) double stroller.

Important: Stroller recall!!

Hi, folks. Long time, no chat ... but when I read this, the PP community was the first group to come to mind:

BBC NEWS | Americas | Pushchair amputation risk recall (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8351424.stm)
*Pushchair-maker Maclaren USA has announced a recall of 1m pushchairs after a dozen children had their fingertips amputated in the hinge.*
[...]
The models involved include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

I know a lot fo folks here use strollers, and quite likely, use the very models listed above. And I cannot even begin to imagine the horror of a child losing fingertips *ever* ... but especially, to suffer that during a Disney vacation? :(

Get those repair kits, or get a new stroller. Your kids' safety is, of course, priority #1 ...!

Hello everyone! It's been awhile! Since my last trip I've acquired a fiance and 2 future step kids. We are looking into a Disney trip and I gulped at the cost! Our boys are 8, 11 and 13 so only 1 is a "child" by Disney standards. We would really like to do more of an "Orlando" trip and do Universal, waterparks and some dinner shows etc also, but so far I cannot find an affordable way to do this. Any other families of 5 out there have tips or recommendations? Somehow adding 1 extra person to a package for 4 people really makes the price jump- especially on property since many resorts don't have (or won't allow) 5 people in a standard room.

Birthday Gift Card

This year Disney had the celebrate your birthday, get in free offer. If you already had a ticket, they gave you the amount of the ticket on a gift card. We did this option and now, our daughter seems to think you get a "birthday credit card" on your birthday everytime you go! LOL (she's 4). Guess Disney was smart by doing this, because I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to buy a gift card for her every year now!

First Christmas Pictures at Disneyworld?

Hi everyone,

I'm somewhat new to the forums (although I read them a lot) but I'm not new to Disney. This year however, my DH and I are taking our DD for her first trip to Disney in December. She will be just under 9 months old at the time. I would love to get her actual christmas pictures done someplace in disney with a character if possible. I know we can plan for character dining and hope the pictures come out nice. But I'm curious if there is a place for professional photos to be taken with characters. I think they have disney themed backdrops at a place in downtown disney but I don't recall there being characters.

Of course, I'm planning to take some elsewhere because I'm scared she will be going through her stranger anxiety phase and scream instead of smile but I still want to give it a shot.

Thank you for any words of advice!

My daughter wants to bring her Heely's (shoe/skate combination) to WDW. I am trying to find some information on a rule or regulation from WDW that bans Heely's from the park that I can show her. I have searched all my guidebooks but have found nothing on this subject. I would suspect that Disney would not allow them in the park, but I am looking for something written that I can show her. I don't want to pack those heavy shoes plus I think they are unsafe without a helmet and knee pads too. Unfortunately, my husband (who bought the shoes) thinks its a great idea to bring them on the trip. Can anyone help me with a rule that bans skates from the park?
