We just got back from 11 days at WDW and had a delightful trip. We are fairly experienced with WDW in general and most of the restaurants, particularly those in the World Showcase. This trip however, was the first time we had tried Restaurant Marrakesh but it will most definitely NOT be the last time.

The food was excellent (try the fish tagine) and the service was quick but not rushed at all, courteous, and very friendly. Each of us (4 people) had something different and were very pleased. Between us we tried the fish mentioned above, lamb shanks, salmon, and chicken kabobs.

Do yourself a favor and make an ADR for Restaurant Marrakesh!!

Last Question About CP Dining Package - I Promise!

I thought that I had read somewhere that the dinner included appetizer, entree, desert and non-alcoholic beverage, but I can't seem to find it again - is this correct?

If it is correct, can you take the dessert with you - I really don't think we can eat that much food and still be able to walk around!

Question about ADR /DDP?

We are using the DDP on our next vacation. I have begun making ADR for Jan-Feb 2010 visit. I made 4 reservations (all online) so far & didn't have to pay a deposit or prepay anything. But, I tried making an ADR for Hoop Dee Doo, using the DDP, and it came up that I had to prepay for this meal. Just wondering how that works?? since I will be using TS meal credits for this. I know I have to use 2 credits each for this meal, and don't mind doing that as DH & I loved this meal show when we went years ago & thought the family might enjoy it this time.

Please let me know if I am doing something wrong.....I would really like to book HoopDeeDoo, but prefer not to prepay when I will have the TS credits to use. I am a bit confused. :confused:Thanks!

Need help on Disney Celebration???

We are going April 24-30. My wife, myself, DD(4) and DS(7). We have ADR's at
Spirit of Aloha, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus. When I booked the ADR's the CM asked me if we were celebrating anything. I told her my son's birthday was the next week(May 7) and she wrote it on our reservations. Except the one for Akershus, only because I told her not to. Now I think my DD may be jealous if she doesn't have a celebration of her own.
What can I put for a celebration for her at the Akershus breakfast so she has a celebration for her? Her birthday is in January.

Question About Candelight Processional Dining Package

We just received our information in the mail yesterday. I know that the dinner for the dining package is not paid for ahead of time, but I thought that I saw prices listed for the different tiers of dining. My questions is, it is a "set" price for the dinner or do you pay from the menu?

DS and DDiL are honeymooning in WDW in January. They want to have a nice romantic dinner one night. My thoughts were Artist Point, Cali Grill or Narcossee's. I'm sure there's alot more I am not thinking of!

So, my Passporter buds, what do you think? Where would you recommend the newly married couple have a romantic dinner? (I don't think V & A's is in their budget....)

Beaches and Cream??

I am taking my niece to WDW in May when she gets out of school and there is one place she has wanted to go to if she ever got to go to Disney, it is Beaches nad Cream. In all the times I have gone I have never been there so I don't know much about it. She saw it on the Travel Channel and it talked about the Kitchen Sink and the food, but can anyone tell me of their experiences? Did you like it, love it or not really?

Also how do I get there from the Boardwalk? I can't believe that I am stumped on this one. :confused:

What is the best time to attend Hoop Dee Doo? We scheduled it for 5:00 pm/Category 2 for our last night at WDW... our flight leaves at 7:00 am the next morning. Is Catergory 1 better... I'm trying to decide if I should move our time to the late schedule. Just wondering what you thoughts were.

Tutto Italia - awful

If you get terrible service or food - complain. For lunch on 11/12 we dined at Tutto Italia. The food was the worse we've ever had at WDW and the service was awful.

First, our waiter had the worst breath I've run into in my memory and he'd get right in our faces. Minor thing, we requested some butter - never got it. Nancy's food was burnt and you could tell they tried to hid it. My sandwich turned out to be the most awful ham and cheese basically. To top it off we sat near the servers station and watched them make fun of quests. We would hear Italian with "Amerikano" accompanied by pointing at guests and laughing. Nancy was fumming when we left and got the info on their corporate headquarters in Calif. Upon our return home she fired off an email.

Today we got a reply offering to refund our money and asking for the guest check so that the staff could be tracked down.

Slipper Dessert

Had a bit of confusion booking with "room only" and Fantasmic Dining Package

I wanted to share this in case anyone else has a question about how to do ADRs with a "room only" booking.

We have a "room only" reservation for our first night, and then the package with dining starts the next day.

Today was my 180 day window for the "room only". I made ADRs online and got everything I wanted.

Then I telephoned to book the Fantasmic Dining Package. It caused a lot of confusion and I ended up in a conference call!

They decided it was because I need to have the dining package to book Fantasmic Dining Package; but I was booking in today with a "room only."

My package-with-dining starts the NEXT day, so I am supposed to call TOMORROW morning to book the Fantasmic Dining.

WHEW! The ladies were very nice, I have to say that!

2010 dining plan

California Grill ?

For those who have dined at the California Grill during the fireworks: Can you actually here the firework noise, the popping sounds, inside the restaurant?

We are wanting to dine here and I was looking for a place to see the fireworks without actually hearing the fireworks. I know that you can see them from this restaurant but if they are close enough to hear them then perhaps this is not a good choice. We can dine here during a early hour. My son is very frightened by fireworks and I don't want to ruin dinner for everyone.

Is it okay to celebrate at every TS meal?

I just finished making our ADRs online for our trip in May to celebrate our 40th anniversary. :D I must say I really enjoyed doing it that way - so much less stressful when you're in charge of viewing what's available. When you book each ressie they ask you if you're celebrating anything. I answered yes for each one, and added our anniversary to the ressie. Is that too much or should we be celebrating at just one special meal? How would you celebrate?

When we were at Cali Grill on our last trip, we were able to view the fireworks from MK and they piped in the audio so we could hear it. Will the same thing happen during the fireworks that occur during the MVMCP? Or will we be able to see the fireworks, but not hear the audio?

And, does Narcoosee's have a similar situation as Cali Grill in regards to the fireworks?

Is it worth getting the Candlelight Processional Dining Package?

I'm a true newb, and just got ADR's at Ohana's (Sunday breakfast with 2 of 3 kids) and Tappan Edo (Wed night with whole family of 5) for our trip during Thanksgiving week. The customer service rep on the phone highly recommended that we also get the Candlelight Processional Dining Package. I've read that it might be good to get the early show (5pm). Thoughts/opinions here?

Also..thoughts on places to dine both in or near the Disney area for Thanksgiving?

Addicted to Planning, lol... HELP PLS

PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION :crazy:

I have always been a planner but this trip I seem to be so much worse, lol... I seriously wake up at night thinking "oh my god, did i do this or should we do that" and with an infant at home I don't sleep that much to begin with. Anyhow, I have a few things that woke me last night that I'm looking for your advice, knowledge, wisdom, etc on...

First off, I think to help me decide I should give a little back story. (Those of you who don't like to read long-winded posts, I apologize in advance) LOL

This trip in 22 days :D will be to celebrate my DH and my 10th wedding anniversary and will also be my DD very first trip. She is only going to be <9 months old so I know she won't remember it, but I am sure we will and I will take tons of pictures. We are DVC members and got a one bedroom villa with Savannah view. I also booked an accessible studio for half the week for my best friend and her mom who has MS. My best friend was also my MOH in our wedding.

Both DH and I are huge Disney fans so almost every vacation we've taken since we met has been to either DL or WDW. DH even proposed at Snow White's Wishing Well just outside Sleeping Beauty's Castle in DL. For our wedding, we were able to buy the Disney Collection Wishing Well and have that as a cake topper. For my shower, my mom found the Disney collection miniature Sleeping Beauty Castle.

When DH and I first were dating he had this pair of pants i HATED. Do you remember those baggie workout type pants that were a trend in the late 80s/early 90s? Well he had this pair that were black and white pattern. To me they looked like zebra pants, but they werent really. Well I truly hated these pants. He would wear them all the time in jest knowing I was so embarrassed. It soon became a joke between us. I would buy him zebra stuffy's for his stockings, etc. Another related thing is that anytime we went to a zoo, etc when he took pictures, he only got pictures of the zebra's butts. He's aim for their heads or sides but they would turn around on him... so these are jokes between us for more than 10 -15 years now...

I'm not sure the order I should ask my questions so I'm just going to type them out before I forget them again :D

Im debating over ordering a cake to celebrate our anniversary. Our actual 10th was back in October but due to some major projects at my work, we couldn't go for those dates. This will be almost 2 months late.

Also, my best friend and her mom will be there from Saturday to Tuesday morning so If I do a cake I can't decide if I do it while they are there or just when it's DH, DD, and I.

If I do order a cake, I'm not sure what to ask for and if they will be able to do it. I have called the cake hotline and I know that the resort bakeries are much more able to accomodate special requests and the in-park dining only have a few to choose from. So, these are some of the thoughts i've been having and I'm really not sure which to go with...

Find out if there is anyplace with snow white and the seven dwarfs for character dining (I know Snow White is at the Storybook dining but am not aware if the dwarves participate anyplace)
Order a cake for our breakfast at the 1900 or chef mickeys and see if they can do snow whites wishing well on top?
Order a zebra cake to be delivered to our room at AKV?
Celebrate at our existing reservation at Storybook Princecss Dining (Akershus) but with a plain cake since they don't have a bakery for a custom one?

I truly apologize for the scatterbrained order of things, I could think of a logical way to do a brain dump, LOL

Any and all advice, help, wisdom etc is so greatly appreciated. I am addicted to reading all your posts these days that even though I don't post a lot I feel like I know so many of you from reading TR etc.

Margo and I got together this afternoon and picked out our meals. Believe it or not-----we got EVERYTHING we wanted with great times, (one exception)
5/3 Whispering Canyon Cafe
5/4 Liberty Tree Inn
5/5 Tusker House and Raglan Road
5/6 Chef Mickey's
5/7 Le Cellier

Most are lunches between 1 and 2pm, except WCC and RR, which are supper.
I feel truly blessed that I was able to get what we wanted.

Health issues severely changing our dining plans!!

DS(20) has a chronic health issue and will soon be having a feeding tube surgically implanted, allowing him to drink clear liquids by day but be tube fed all night.

We had such wonderful ADRs booked that we decided on the deluxe dining plan, which I cancelled today.

I'm not sure if he'll be well enough by New Years to eat a few solid foods or not, but we're stlll having breakfast with Mickey, and breakfast in Cinderella's castle!

If all he can have is liquids we'll go back to the resort for drinks (for him) and nibbles (for me) in the concierge lounge.

Food is only part of the meal. The memories made are an important part, too!
I'm willing to pay $50 for him to meet Cinderella and have water for breakfast!

Ohana dinner?

I'm like twentysome days till our trip and thinking I want to cancel our dinning plan and just pay OOP. Is it too late to do that?
I paid in full already.

We are not big dessert people, I know:eek:. Crazy right? I did do the math and yes it would be about $100 more if we pay OOP, but at least this way we aren't always forced to eat some dessert we would have never ordered anyway......and then maybe not feel sooo quilty for trying a cool app?

Cake for Anniversary??

My ILs are joining us for our trip in January, during which they will be celebrating their anniversary. MIL's only dining request was Le Ceilier (which I snagged! Oh yeah!) but I thought it would be fun to suprise them with a cake during that meal. They got married on the beach, so I'm wondering if they could do a beach themed cake, and then a wedding themed Mickey and Minnie (I can't imagine they don't have something like this?) I've only ever ordered standard cakes, so I wondering how flexible they are?

Any other ideas of pictures of anniversary cakes?

ADR strategy for shorter trip?

We will be taking a 4 night Disney Cruise in May 2010 to celebrate my 40th bday :D

But since I can't possibly go to Fl. without going to the World:crazy:, we will be staying for 3 nights prior to the cruise. On the first night, we are not expecting to arrive until the evening.

We've never been on such a short trip to the World. I know I am going to be incredibly overwhelmed in planning for our ADRs - so many must-dos and want-to-trys and so little time:eek:

What should my approach be with ADRs:confused: What is a good amount for two full days, and parts of two other days? Also, what's a good place for a birthday celebration, keeping in mind we will be dining with kids (our 10 year-old twins and 2 year old son), as well as my mother and her husband? I would like to avoid buffets for this meal as they tend to be too hectic what I had in mind for this meal (then again, I can't have something TOO leisurely, as toddler son will get restless!). Also, should we plan a TS breakfast for the morning we leave on the cruise, or will this be too rushed?

Yachtsman vs. Captain's Grill

We are going to the World in April and are on the DxDDP. My sister has some dietary issues with most meats. I, on the othe hand, do not. I didn't see many fish options for her at the Yachtsman Steakhouse on the menu's posted here or on other sites. She needs to be careful of the kind of fish as well -- she can't eat fish with a "steaklike" testure such as tuna, salmon, or swordfish. The CM who took our ADR's suggested Captain's Grill as an alternative. I could get an excellant steak and she would have several seafood options. We are already doing FF, Citricos, Narcossees, CG so we're not necessarily looking for another signature dining experience. What do you think?

DDP and tips

OK...being a first time user of the DDP, I have a couple of questions. I am trying to figure out the extra money I need to bring along for tips. Does DDP include tax or is that also an additional amount I need to factor in? If yes, what is the tax rate? As for tipping, we will be doing a couple of buffets. What is the amount of tipping that should be left? The usual 18%??? Thanks for any assistance with this. I'm so excited...only 17 days to go!! YIPPEE

I need some suggestions on where to eat on our arrival day. We need suggestions on a place to eat on the night of our arrival. We would prefer a place at one of the resorts. We have ate at Whispering Canyon Cafe and loved it. We would a place that is relaxing. We will are on the dining plan. We do not want to go to one of the parks because we would like to go to one of the parks on our departure day. It would be for adults no kids. I would appreciate any suggestions you could give me. The Wave (Contemporary), The Turf Club (SSR), Olivia's (OKW), Capt Jack's (DTD), or Boatwrights (POR).
We'll be traveling with 2 kids - one who will eat anything, and the other a little pickier.
We're eating at Le Cellier one night (YUM, my fave!!), and have a character breakfast at Ohana. Looking for a good meal, something for everyone, but something that is worth the use of a table service credit on the DDP.

Okay, so I finally made my last ADR today after starting this journey on 10/27 and going through all that craziness. Flying Fish was the last holdout as there was a "technical glitch" with the system. I finally got a CM yesterday who transferred me to an operator who connected me directly to FF. Had to leave a message and a CM called back today, WHEW
This trip is me, DH, DD9, DS6, Dparents, DSis and her DBF, staying BWV using DDP (for the first time):
3/20 - Arrival day, no plans, probably QS at Epcot for dinner
3/21 - 1900 PF breakfast (tradition, I have to "start" my trip at MK)
- Rose & Crown dinner
3/22 - Coral Reef dinner
3/23 - Flying Fish dinner
3/24 - Cape May Cafe dinner
3/25 - Le Cellier dinner
3/26 - Garden Grill dinner
3/27 - go home:cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2:

Now I just have to find a way to make time go faster......

Question about making ADR's at 10+ days

Hi!

I know when making ADRs that you can make them 180 (+10) days out from the arrival date. If I call at day 180 and make my ADRs for days 1-10, when am I allowed to call and make the additional 2 days of ADRs on my 12 day trip?

I was discussing our upcoming trip with a freind of mine and the subject of extra dining credits came up. She said they had a few credits left on their last trip and decided to make someone elses trip a little more magical. She asked the waitress if she knew of any families that were currently eating and were not on the DDP. The waitress pointed out a couple with 2 kids. Since my freind had 4 credits left she told the waitress to put there meal on her DDP. The waitress had no problem with this and I'm sure it made the family happy.

I thought this was a great idea and a way to help spread the magic.

Thanks for all of your help!! I wanted to start "the planning process" and due to my issues with instant gratification, couldn't wait until I got the 2010 passporter guide in a few weeks!!! Here's a rough outline of what we've come up with for our ressies. This trip, it's DH, DS (7), and myself, staying at AKL, with DDP

Arrival Day at AKL : Boma (repeat)

Animal Kingdom day: Saana (new-we did Y& Y last time, DH and I liked it, DS, well-didn't. Decided to do a later dinner at/near our resort instead!)

Epcot: Coral Reef (repeat) or Tutto Italia (new).

No-park day: Narcoosees for our anniversary dinner (thanks for the input PPers!).

Magic Kingdom: Kona Cafe (new)

No-park day: Late Beach club breakfast (new) (went this route with the extra TS) and then Clambake for dinner (new). Plan on hanging out a the boardwalk inbetween...need to do a bit more research for this day! We're hopig to do the Pirate and Pals Fireworks cruise this night....

DHS: (FWIW, I still have an issue with the D in DHS....I went to Dover High School....just can't stop the flashbacks!!!) Sci-Fi (new) or 50's Prime time (New for DH, repeat for DS and I)

Magic Kingdom: Crystal palace (repat, a must do tradition for us), and planning on doing the Pirate's League for the whole family....we'll see how it goes!!

How does it look, considering a few things are still up in the air, but at least I have a basic gameplan down!!

I have read in the past that the regular DDP no longer includes appetizers however looking on the Disney website under "2010 Dining Plan" it does in fact say that appetizers are included in your TS...can anyone confirm this? Going in January 2010 ...TIA!

Not sure if this has been asked recently, but...

I was wondering when the update list of included restaurants (under the disney dining plan) will be made available. I will be making my ADR's in early December, but I'm hesitant to make reservations without knowing which restaurants are participating in 2010. My biggest concern is Epcot where currently only a few restaurants under the 2009 list are listed under the 2010 list. Examples of ones that are not currently included on the 2010 list: San Angel Inn, Teppan Edo, Chefs de France, to name a few.

I am considering adding the QSDP to my reservation for my upcoming trip because I have 8 QS meals planned and that's exactly how many credits I would have. Then I would just pay my 3 TS meals OOP. But, I am just wondering if you would actually spend enough on a QS meal to make it worth the money? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

Does 180 days window start when the package starts or when the room-only starts?

We have booked a "room only" for our arrival day, and then booked a Magic Your Way Package with Dining that starts the next day. 2 questions:

When can we start using our meal tickets--the day we arrive or the next day when our package starts?

When does our 180 days start--on that arrival day or the next?

I just need to be clear about it so I get the right day to call for ADRs! :oooo:

I need some help with our pick for our next visit: We will be getting the basic dining plan. Ages of the kids 7,5,2 at the time we go. My DH is not a fan of buffet food, but is willing to try BOMA. I have one character meal in mind which is Askershus, don't know for what meal though. So no other buffets, and a 5year old who will NOT try anthing that looks different.

We need 5 days of table services. I have 4 on my wish list.

Please note we plan on eating breakfast on club level at least 2 maybe 3 mornings. I know I need back up ideas too. Then looking at my list almost everything is in Epcot! Oh well.

Making my ADRs tomorrow

Tomorrow is the big day! I get to make our ADRs. Too bad it's a Sunday and I have to get up pre-6:00am to go online,:slurp: but there really isn't a better reason in the world to get up that early on the weekend. Here's some short details of our trip:

Arriving May 7th after a long drive from NJ(with a stop over, of course). Checking into CSR. Then on May 12th, we'll be switching to WL :woot:. We'll be on the deluxe dining plan for the beginning of the trip and then pay out of pocket and use our $500 gift card that we got with a pin code, for the rest of the trip. So anyway, onto the ADRs:

Friday, May 7th late lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern
May 8: Donald's Safari Breakfast
Yak and Yeti Lunch
Chefs de France Dinner
May 9: 1900 Park Fare Breakfast
Jiko Dinner
May 10: Ohanas Dinner
May 11: Sci Fi or 50s Prime Time Lunch (here I can't decided)
Flying Fish Dinner
May 12: Chef Mickey's Breakfast
Artsit Point Dinner
May 13: WCC Breakfast
Fulton's Dinner
May 14: Spirits of Aloha

If anyone can give opinions on whether we should go to Sci Fi or 50s PT that would be great. I am not thrilled with the menu at 50s PTT, but really would like to experience the atmosphere. As for Sci Fi, my DH hasn't been there, but last time me and kids went, I got sick:eek:.

What is the "smarter" way to use 1 extra TS credit?

As it always does at some point during the planning process, my brain is going to explode. I just realized that we (2 adults, 1 boy child, age 7) will have an extra TS credit due to the configuration of our proposed dining ressies.....

DS, could go either way....he likes the characters, so we could do a character breakfast on one of the mornings to use it....

He also likes to go to "fancy" restaurants. FWIW, his idea of "fancy" is Carrabba's. He's never actually been to a REAL FANCY restaurant. If we take him anywhere that he percieves is fancy, it's guaranteed that he'll pull my chair out for me!:p

So, if YOU had an extra TS credit, would you throw in an extra character breakfast (lunch really isn't an option, we do TS for dinner, and can;t consume THAT much food!), or would you upgrad a "regular TS ressie" to a 2 TS ressie instead?

I've read the rules for the dress code at the Yachtsman in my PP, but I still have questions. Can we wear jeans and tennis shoes w/a polo or nice blouse? Is that acceptable? We want to go to Epcot after dinner and we like to park hop in tennis shoes.

WH & I are butting heads on ADR making.. I want to book at least 2TS a day while he is content with the way this is.. I feel with the deluxe dining this is best but we crunched the numbers & we are getting our moneys worth with what we have booked already. We compromised & agreed that we would add some more TS once the boys band itinerary is released. Here's what we've got so far.. I have highlighted where I need some opinions

Please note we LOVE Disney buffets .. for the simple fact that WE dictate when we leave ( & the food is ALWAYS good IOHO)

3/25 arrival day

Lunch at QS either resort or MK.. I ADORE Columbia harbor house hummus sandwich so I'm thinking we might go there

3/26 Friday- day the band arrives
Chef Mickey breakfast @ 8:15
QS lunch somewhere- depending on where the band is
Cape May Cafe dinner 6:05pm

It is an Epcot evening EMH so I figure we will walk over after dinner & take advantage

3/27 Saturday - MGM early EMH
I would like to have a TS breakfast booked here but we're not sure where we want to go I thought to go to Hollywood & vine for breakfast or someplace earlier as we don't have dinner until VERY late. SUGGESTIONS???

3/28 Sunday. the day the band marches which is an Epcot EMH but I think we'll skip that as we have breakfast ADR's
1900 Park Fare @ 8:05 am. WE love their dinner & have never been for breakfast so I figured why not & we can hop on the monorail & be at MK .

QS lunch somewhere in MK..

Dinner @ Crystal Palace @5:50pm.. after this we'll probably leave to rest up @ our resort & go to Evening EMH at MK until 2am.

3/29 Monday morning EMH @ MGM.. If we go to EMH on Saturday we'll probably skip this & head to a water park today..

I'd love to have a TS breakfast scheduled SUGGESTIONS??? or do I eat breaskfast @ resort & have a TS lunch somewhere??

We have WCC @ 7:15pm

Tuesday 3/31 MK early EMH & we will take advantge of this to ride those rides we might not have gotten on on Sunday evening
We have Crystal Palace for breakfast @ 8:15am
& nothing else scheduled today... it is Epcot late EMH so WH would like to book an Epcot TS.. but I'm leaning towards my FAVE restaruant.. Boma.. any thoughts???

We 3/31 day we leave (BOO!!!) I want to take an 8pm flight out so if we have any credits left we were thinking of booking a goodbye breakfast or lunch.. any suggestions? We're not going to be at any special park today.. It is Ak early EMH so we'll probably be there but we can't do Boma as we'll be cutting it too close for our plane so we thought of Tusker House.. for those that have been there before ( we haven't) it sounds a lot like Boma.. is it?? or do I leave it to QS all day to take advantage of the last day.

ok, so I'm not a salmon lover really, but the salmon they have on the buffet at Biergarten is soooooo yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's the only salmon I would eat like two servings of!

I have had it the last two times I've gone to Biergarten and I have forgotten to ask for the recipie both times!

I can't seem to find it on-line, so.....

I need a fairy godchef! LOL If anyone is going to be eating at Biergarten on their trip, (because I won't be back for a year now and I want to make this!) can you please, oh please ask for the recipie for me?

LTT: Are the rumors true about the Characters??

I know that the Crystal Palace will be refurbished at the start of next year and LTT will be serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner to make up for it, but someone told me that they were bringing characters to these meals. Are these the Winnie the Pooh Characters or the old LTT characters? We have reservations for LTT on 1/19 and have no idea who to expect! TIA

... the kids meals in plastic "lunch" boxes? Can you use the DDP for one?

We saw them at the ASMo and Pop several years ago. I think they were PB&J uncrustables, a juice box. Probably cookies or goldfish or something. Not a huge meal, but cute and highly portable.

I don't see them on the menus on AllEars, but they were in the grab&go section, and cases by the checkouts, so may not make the menu postings anyway.

I have been trying to get an ADR at Kona for 4 adults and 3 kids ( youngest being in a highchair) at a specific time for about 2 weeks now. For some reason today I just put in the 2 kids and a ressise was available. I grabbed it because my 2yr old isn't taking up a "chair" at a 6 person table and usually the highchair is wedged in next to me anyway.
Do you think I will have an issue when I check in? I feel like calling and being up front about it............but on the other hand, I am thinking it can't possibly be a big deal:rolleyes:. Yeah? No?

My dining partner Angie(Poohsgirl) and I decided to split everything we ordered and so we did. Crazy good.

Okay. Here's what we ordered and I'm sorry that I do not have photos with me, but as soon as I ask her for them, I'm sure she'll get them to me! I think she took pictures anyway! LOL!!

First her wine flight:
Greek Isles Flight $15.00

Sigalas, Assyrtiko Blend, Santorini - Lean and crisp, citrus blossoms, Asian pear and fig, lots of minerality and bright citrus acidity

Argyros, Atlantis White, Santorini - 100% Assyrtiko shows white blossoms, refreshing and crisp blend of lemons and limes, pears with bracing acidity

Enoteca Emery, Athiri, Rhodes - Bright and clean with lemon, green melon, and white peach

They were all good. I stuck with water. :facelick:

Then we went with the starters and they serve these as they become ready and they encourage you to dig in and share. No problem with us as that was our plan the entire trip.

Kouzzina Spreads - Harissa Yogurt, Kalamata Fig, and Chickpea Hummus with Grilled Pita---very good and my first time trying Greek "dips". I can't pick which was number one for me!

Goat Cheese-stuffed Grape Leaf - Large Grape Leaf filled with Herbed Goat Cheese
and Grilled-----OMG a real CO!! So good SO GOOOOOOODDDDD!!

Saganaki - Seared Haloumi Cheese with Lemon and Oregano--- fried cheese, very very good :waytogo: especially once we squirted lemon on it. okay, squeezed sounds better than squirting :rofl:

The reason I was so excited to go to Kouzzina was the side dishes. Where else in the World can you find Beets and Brussel Sprouts?? I can't think of any other place!! I didn't want to order a heavy entree either so went with:

Char-grilled Lamb Burger - with Olives, Feta, and crisp Sweet Potato Fries
OH my goodness, a perfect size to share with someone, it's 8oz, it's SPICY with the Harissa but not HOT like a bunch of Jalapenos. Does that make sense?? The sweet Potato fries were a great compliment and a first for me!

Saut�ed Brussels Sprouts - with Capers and Lemon wow were they good!! I want to go back in March just for these again!

Chilled Salt-roasted Beets - with Skordalia These come out looking like a dessert! I'm not sure what Skordalia was but it was delicious.

We left plenty of food behind, except the sprouts :facelick: and best of all............

We met CAT CORA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

She was doing seminars at Epcot and she came in and chatted with everyone and took pictures and then sat down with her mom and family. Very very cool!!

If you get the chance but are kind of nervous about trying the food there--i'll admit that when I read it I was worried that my family wouldn't care for it--go, try it. Start by just ordering appetizers, if you find your family just don't care too much for it, then politely tell the server you'd like the bill and take off and hit the ice cream shop next door! :rofl: But I really think that even my pickiest eater will enjoy this place!!

I hope to get my first choices but after putting in my requests I feel like I am more like eating my way around the world lol... 15lbs here I come.

This was very stressful but now waiting is even more so because I am not making my own reservations and it is killing me I have no control but now I can stop changing my plans. My TA is taking care of it so it is linked with my reservation.

21yo DD is singing in the CP this year and just preferenced her date so my parents could come. Plans are finally set and I called for a package. NOTHING. NOWHERE. NADA. For any party size. Zilch. I'm flabbergasted and panicking. Standing in line for hours is NOT something my parents/children do well. WHAT am I going to do????

I have recently discovered that I made an ADR @ LTT for 6:35 pm on a MVMCP night, :o and we don't have tickets to the party. I totally didn't realize it, and the CM taking my ADR's didn't mention it either. I tried to reschedule my ADR but every time is full.
I read on another board :rolleyes: (forgive me) that people are being escorted out from the restaurant to the front gates to be sure folks don't linger at the party. While I can understand a friendly reminder to am-scray, I would be very embarrased to be walked out of the gates like I was trying to pull a fast one! Does anyone know how true this is?

Candelight Processional Dinner Package

Hi there--

We are going to WDW Dec. 12-16, and are thinking about the CP dinner package at Epcot. How hard would it be during this time to get into the CP without the preferred seating--say on Sun, Mon, or Tues night?

If we do decide to try to get the package, what's the best deal? We would have 4 adults, 3 kids ages 15, 13 & 2. The 2 year old would be free, but the 13 year old is a super picky eater, so I am sure we would not be getting our money's worth anywhere on his meal--that said, what's everyone's recommendation? I hate the thought of 4x$60 + at Le Cellier for our immed. family, but I know he'd at least eat steak. Are tax and tip included in the package price?

Help! Oh, and we are not doing the dining plan, if that figures in at all.

We are looking for a table service because we have the dlx dining plan.....

CS at DHS (And MK)

We've never worried much about our CS meals at WDW -- we'd just grab something wherever we happened to be.
But this trip we're doing the CS dining plan, so I think I should pay a bit more attention.
I realized we have never eaten at a CS restaurant in DHS! What ones do people like? Any we should avoid?
Since we won't be doing any TS places there are there any CS places that are better themed/more fun than others?

For that matter, the same Q would apply at MK -- the only places I recall eating at are Casey's, Columbia House, Pinocchio's Village Haus and Cosmic Rays (which DH says he won't go back to). We'd like something a bit more interesting than burgers and fries. But "CS" restaurants conjur images of cafeterias, so it would be nice to identify the more interesting places in terms of decor as much as menu (which I can read online).

Whats the best dessert or one that really sticks out in your mind that you've had at disney world.
I haven't had too many, but one that really sticks out in my mind was:
Homemade Sorbet at the Coral Reef.....
I didn't expect it to be that good and it blew me away....
the flavors were pear and something else....I didn't know homemade makes such a huge difference...

Liberty Tree Tavern, Magic Kingdom

Our Sunday evening dinner was at the Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom. We were careful about when we ate lunch so that we would bring our appetites to our 7:35 p.m. reservation. We arrived 15 minutes early and ended up being seated at 7:20 p.m.

Wait staff are dressed in the clothing from the 1700�s. It reminded me of the John Adams series on HBO. The decor was also of the same time period. It was a rather large restaurant with seating on two half levels. The bathrooms were up a full flight of stairs and there were only 2 stalls in the ladies room! I had to wait a few minutes to get into the bathroom and the ladies waiting with me and those coming out of the bathroom all commented on how small the bathrooms were for a restaurant of that size. It would turn out to be the only downfall of our visit.
Chef Rob came over to our table to talk to me about gluten-free meal options. The �Bill of Fare� shows what foods will be served. First, they have the �Declaration Salad� � tossed mixed greens with strawberry viniagrette dressing. The main course is the �Patriot�s Platter� which consists of roasted turkey breast, carved beef, and smoked pork loin with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb bread stuffing, and macaroni & cheese. Everything comes to the table �family style�, so plates of food come out and everyone serves themselves. Since I had a dietary restriction and couldn�t eat all of the menu items but my husband could, they served us individual plates of food. My husband�s plate contained all of the above-mentioned items.

Salad with Strawberry Vinaigrette

Chef Rob told me that he�d bring out some tapioca rolls for me � this was the first time in my life that I�ve had gluten-free rolls given to me in a restaurant, and what a treat that was! Of the items on the �Patriot�s Platter�, I was able to have the roasted turkey breast, carved beef, mashed potatoes, GLUTEN-FREE GRAVY, and green beans. I was also able to have the salad with strawberry viniagrette dressing.

I thought I was going to pass out from the excitement of dining in a restaurant where I could actually have dinner rolls and gravy! Unheard of in any other restaurant that I�ve been to in the 13 years since my celiac sprue diagnosis. The gravy was just excellent over the turkey & mashed potatoes! The carved beef was prepared without fault, expertly seasoned and very tender. I honestly don�t know what part of this meal that I enjoyed more. I was so glad that I had saved my appetite for this fabulous dinner.

And then they came out to ask what we wanted for dessert! My husband had a tasty-looking apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. I would have preferred that, but they did not have a gluten-free version available. Instead, Chef Rob prepared a raspberry sorbet with fresh blueberries and strawberries � delicious! I had stuffed myself at dinner, though, and didn�t have as much room for dessert as I would have liked. What I did eat, however, was thoroughly enjoyed!

The Liberty Tree Tavern is a restaurant that we both enjoyed and would visit again in the future.

p.s. It was an Extra Magic Hours night at the Magic Kingdom that night and we spent time wandering around the park after dinner. We especially enjoyed the Monsters Inc Laugh Factory. We visited that attraction a couple more times, but it was never as enjoyable as it was on that first night we visited. I�d heartily recommend this attraction to anyone, young or old!

OK, I have tried to get ADR's for Chef Mickey's for ANYTIME of the day or night for a span of Dec. 12-16th, and NOTHING!!! What's up with that? It's a pretty slow time, I think, and they have nothing available??? Are they closed or something? Any suggestions? We do have a party of 4 adults, 3 kids, should I try to split it up?

On this trip we're going to have the QS dining plan. For two days we'll be touring with my DB, DSIL and DNiece who are FL residents and will be dining-plan-less.

I know the materials say you can't use your dining credits to feed other people. Yet I also hear about folks using DP snack credits to buy ice cream for strangers in line and spread the magic.
So how does it work? Does the system just know we have 2 adults/ 1 child on our plan and not let me buy more than 2 adult meals or 3 snacks at a time? If DH and I are going to share a meal, why can't we also use a credit to buy a salad for DSIL?

Have a question for anyone that has been to Animal Kingdom lately. We picked up the 2010 WDW Birnbaum Guide and they list the Picnic in the Park at Animal Kindgom as a Summer-Only dining option. I was wondering if anyone who has been to AK recently noticed if they were still offering the Picnic in the Park as a dining option. We're heading to WDW in 4 weeks and we were considering doing Picnic in the Park the day we're at AK. I just want to make sure it's still available the day we go.

when I decided to really try to decided where we are staying in Feb. DS2 & I decided on CR.

There are 2 things I like to do when we are there. 1 is to dine at CP before the park opens and 2 is to do a character breakfast at the resort we are at or close to on the morning we leave.

So I start checking out the Disney dining planning website. First of all, someone must have forgotten to turn off the dining planning switch because I just finished booking. I got both dinner (I forget which day) AND breakfast (the morning we leave) at Chef Mick's. For our breakfast in the park before it opens is at CRT!

I was amazed at the availability. One of the many reasons I love going during a "slow" season.

We are going to Disney April 24-30 with the regular Dining Plan. On the dining plan you can reserve a Cat 2 or 3 table at the Spirit of Aloha Luau. Does anyone know if you can upgrade to a Cat 1 table and pay the balance out of pocket? It would only be an $18 difference and I would think it would be worth it.

I thought I heard somewhere that ADR's were going back out to 180 days. Can anyone confirm? We just finally got the go ahead from my boss that I can take vacation in April. We're going to be there the 13th-19th during which my ds will turn 5 and my dd will turn 3. If the 180 days is true, then we are under that already and I want to get my ADR's booked ASAP!

I thought I would do a dining review of our recent WDW trip. I apologize in advance that I don�t have any food porn�but usually DH and DS were so hungry that their meals would be half-done before I got my camera out!

Participants on our excursion: me (3rd trip to WDW, but this was the first time we�d stayed for more than a couple of days. I�m the planner in the family.:phone:); DH (big eater. Really big eater.:hungry:); DS 6 (the kid likes his hot dogs:lollipop:). We were on the DDP for our weeklong trip. DSIL and DNiece joined us for the weekend�DSIL appreciates good food.

10/20 - arrival day. Got to POFQ about 3 p.m. We had a 6:30 ADR at T-Rex, so took the boat to DTD. T-Rex was loud. I mean really LOUD. DS was a little wary at first but then settled down until the first meteor shower, which scared the mess out of him. He recovered pretty well, though, and said the kids� meal burger was the best he�d ever had. He asked to go back and get another almost every day we were at WDW!

I had the margarita, which was good (and got the souvenir glass to boot). DH and I both had the burger with guacamole, which was awfully tasty. :oooo::yummy:Fortunately it came with regular potato chips, which was good because the burger was huge (we didn�t pay extra for the waffle chips, and didn�t need them). Didn�t get dessert -- we were stuffed.

10/21 - Animal Kingdom. Started the day with Donald�s Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. Everything was wonderful. The crumb cake in particular was extremely good�very moist. DH doesn�t typically like eggs but raved over the scrambled eggs on the buffet. Mickey waffles were enjoyed by all, as was the Jamba juice.

Lunch at Pizzafari�I had the Caesar salad with chicken, which was good. I wanted the dressing on the side but couldn�t get it�fortunately the salad was lightly dressed and not drowning. DH had the pepperoni pizza, which he enjoyed; DS had the kids� cheese pizza and liked it. DH and I both had the chocolate cake for dessert, and for pre-packaged chocolate cake, it wasn�t bad. :)

Dinner: We had planned to go to DTD, but ended up eating at the food court at POFQ after a long swim left us all a little worn out. DH and I had jambalaya, which he liked but I thought was just okay. Don�t remember what DS had but he ate it. The beignets, though, were great. Made fresh to order. :yummy:

I saw this on allears's menues....didn't remember seeing it in the past (but hadn't really looked for it either.) We're thinking of doing this on one of our off-park days for dinner, and then hanging out at the Boardwalk for a while after. Is Beachclub within walking distance of the Boardwalk and/or is there a shuttle that will take us there. We'll be staying on property...to get to Beachclub, we need to "transfer" at a park, yes?? Going off my memory here, but is Epcot the closest park to bachclub?

ADR's coming up sooner than I thought-need your suggestions

Hi Gang...

well I've learned my lesson about not visiting passporters year-round! I was on the phone doing something for a client yesterday and found out they changed the ADR's back to 180 days in advance again! Yikes! I had no idea! so this means we can make our ADR's for our trip on MONDAY and I haven't even thought about it!!

I asked this quite a long time ago but thought I'd ask again
What are your favorite places to eat --both table and counter service? any place you'd rather not go to again.

Must do's for us are always Ohanas and Chef Mickey's. (we've always done dinner at both- how do you think breakfast compares).

Thanks in advance for your input. guess it's time to get myself going on our May trip!

DH & I sat down this afternoon & made a big chunk of our ADR's for our trip in March.

We are on the Deluxe dining plan so we were trying to get as much bang for our buck.. WE want to book at least one table service every day.. We are stumped & have lots of open slots so I told him I'd come here to get your opinion..

What is your favorite quick service place for breakfast AND which quick service for dinner???

What is your favorite table service for breakfast and for dinner..

would love to hear your favorite places & also favorite dishes...

Lastly, another dining question.. where in WDW do they serve Sushi.. it's a fave food of mine & I'd love to add that to our dining.. is there any quick service places for Sushi??

I just made ADR's for Chefs de France and Tokyo Dining, different nights, both at 7:30pm. I'm not counting on seeing any of Illuminations from inside the restaurants, but I'm not sure because I've never been inside either one. Would we see anything if we're still eating?

My DS and I are trying Sanaa for lunch on the recommendation of the CM who took our ADR's yesterday, She has some severe gastric problems and can't eat any thing that's very spicy or any meat that is not ground or falling off the bone. I am really excited to be trying Sanaa but will she be able to enjoy it? She can eat fish as long as it is light in texture (not swordfish or tuna), Our CM mentioned an entree that was steamed in a banana leaf which would be perfect for her but is that always on the menu? Should I give up on this restaurant? Please help.

Looking at the driving plans of our August trip we'd probably be getting into CSR around 6 or 7 pm (depending on how many times we stop to use a restroom lol)

do you think after 10+ hours of driving Maya Grill would be too much and we'd do better just to grab something from the Pepper Market... orrrrrrrrrrrrrr just eat whatever we have in our cooler? We're planning to bring a bunch of groceries for our road trip portion as well as to snack on when we're there at WDW (save money where we can)...

I loved my dinner at Maya Grill last time, but I'm not sure if we'll be up for it?

Okay, so in all the madness yesterday I was able to finally make all ADR's but one..Flying Fish. The CM Bryce told me his best guess what that there was a problem "getting into" that restaurants computers and it was just popping up booked. He said it's not one to usually get full and since there was 'no availability" he thought IT issues. Anyway, if you were me would you wait a few days and try again or book another Signature Dining just in case?

BTW, yippee for those of us who survived yesterday's chaos and got our ADR's, persistence does pay off!! (so does being an obsessive planner :tongue:) I think i really would've lost my mind yesterday if not for all the other PP'ers I could vent to/with :D

I made all of my ADR's yesterday...got all of my first choices! Woohoo!

I did make a slight oops in that I didn't check the 2010 DDP list before I booked. I see that Les Chefs de France is not listed. I know that there are some contract issues that need to be worked out, but is this a restaurant that is typically on the DDP? I know the list is longer than when I first looked...but should I anticipate more restaurants to go on the list or find something new?

Help - Ideas for Extra Special Dinner

So, I'm going along with my sister's family for her daughter's Make A Wish trip. Lydia has an inoperable brain tumor and the whole family has been through a lot in the past 7 weeks since the tumor was found.

Well, mom and dad want a special night out and they've left me in charge of planning it. I get to plan the WHOLE trip since they've never been and they already have too much on their plate right now. I'll be staying back at the resort with Lydia (age 5) and her little brother Luke (age 4). I tried to book Cali Grill during Wishes - no luck. Any other ideas? Money is not an issue (people are donating $ toward the trip) so think extra special!

Just made my ADRs online

When I went to the WDW website this morning to try to make my ADRs, the message I got said they were rollling out their new reservation system soon and check back later. At someone's suggestion, I went into my browser and deleted all my cookies. Then went back to the WDW site and was able to make all my reservations. I was so worried about getting Ohana and 1900 Park Fare, but the only ressie I wasn't able to get at a good time was Sci-Fi on the day we will be at DHS. Go figure!

So we have ressies at:

Ohana (which we've never been to before - very excited!)
Crystal Palace for lunch (Emma insisted on this one...she loved it last time!)
Sci-Fi for lunch (but not til 2 p.m. so I think I'll try for a better time later or I'll cancel)
Chef Mickey's for dinner (another new one for us!)
1900 Park Fare (never been there - very excited!)
Boma (my absolute favorite from last trip...a great way to end our vacation!)

I went on-line shortly before 7am and it said it was busy. So I called and was told I would have a 30-minute wait so I put the phone on speaker and tried on-line again, and again... It finally let me in and as I was putting in the information the CM came on the phone. I told her what I was doing and she said she could not get into the system so to continue on-line and if I had problems to call later. It gave me the reservation I wanted, like I said this is a frugal trip to WDW so I just wanted breakfast in the castle and didn't have to linger on the site. I was able to print off all my information and received info through email from disneyonline.
I wish everyone luck and hope you get the reservations you want.

Newbie in need of :help: and advice.............

In planning our ADRs, we thought Fantasmic would be at 6 PM so we booked a late lunch (3:30 pm) at Sci-Fi thinking that would work and give us ample time to get over to the show. Now that the Park Hours are up, Fantasmic is scheduled for
7 PM that evening and I am worried :crazy1: that my Disney Family's tummies will get rummbly by that time.

SO......would you stick with the 3:30 ADR and perhaps grab some sort of snack:popcorn: prior to Fantasmic or should I change the time to earlier and then plan to grab a bit at a QS before the show??? :thanks:

Has anyone dined here before ? My family is thinking about eating here before going to see cirque du soleil . any comments would be appreciated and thanks in advance :)

DDP for 1 adult and a 5 year old who has done all character dining before???

We have been quite a few times in the last few years on the dining plan and have done all the character dining we are interested in and ate at all the restaurants we like. Wondering if this time it is more economical to just POP for smaller/quicker meals and new new stuff in parks she has never had interest in before. Any ideas??? This goes along with the "ever changing my mind on everything" thread

Thurs - free day dinner Tutto Italia

Friday - Epcot Rose and Crown dinner (first time)

Sat - MK no ressies (can't think of anything we want to try)

We also want to have breakfast at Boma once, but I don't know when to plan that until park hours are all out. Any suggestions?

In the last half hour, the ADR site has changed. At the moment, you cannot pull up a calendar at all, which tells me the change is starting to go through. It looks like you will be able to search for a five day range at any one time and you're given options immediately on the booking page to insert children's ages - previously it only asked you for that if you entered any children into your totals.

I'll let you know as soon as it starts to show dates...

Spirit of Aloha Question

Hi everyone! I'm getting ready to do my ADR's and I have a question. In my Passporter, they list Ohana as a dining option, but on the WDW website, they have the Spirit of Aloha. Did they just change the name, or is it something different? Also, is it one credit or two? Does anyone know? Thanks, and good luck to all us crazies who are up already!

ADRs and the Dining Plan...

So looking at historical dates we're going around the time the Free Dining Plan deal has been offered. I am of the mind set that we don't count our chickens before their hatched...

but I can't help but think and plan for the 'just in case' I am not expecting it (and I won't demand it, it's free, I'm not paying for it, and they don't have to offer it)...

but would it be wrong that when I go to make ADRs I book them so long as when it gets down to it I cancel if free dining isn't offered?

does that even make sense?

Garden View Room Tea at GF

Does anyone have any photos of the tea at the Grand Floridian? Can any of give me a review? I showed my DD 4 a youtube video of the My Disney Girl Perfectly Princess Party, and she said it was too loud for her. She is a bit shy and I really don't think she would do the sing alongs or parade. Of course, this is okay with me since the tea party is $250.00. ;)
We both love tea and I plan on booking this, but would love to hear from folks who have been before.

Is there usually a difference between BF and lunch for Akerhaus Princess meal?

We have a lunch adr our first day of park and a bf one the day we leave.

I am planning on cancelling one. Is it overkill to do both?

I was leaning towards the bf as I think my family will like the food better than lunch.

We also have the 1900 park fare dinner the night before we leave.

So tomorrow is the big day...

Like thousands (if not millions) of other folks, my 180 day window for ADRs opens tomorrow. Because the system will no doubt be overloaded and/or will crash tomorrow with the rush of people, I was hoping to wait a day or two before trying to book my ADRs. I'm not trying to get Le Cellier or CRT, but I was wondering how hard it would be to book any of the following:

Ohana for dinner
1900 Park Fare for dinner
Crystal Palace for lunch
Sci-fi for Lunch
Boma for dinner

Does anyone think any of these will be quick sell-outs for the second week in April? Thanks for the help!

DH and I are taking a (very) belated second honeymoon to WDW in Dec. and he really wanted to do the deluxe dining. I'm not a big eater, I don't like breakfast, and to make it even worse, I'm kind of a picky eater so I've been having a hard time figuring out the best use of all these dining credits. How does this sound to you?

Mon - arrival - dinner at The Wave
Tues. Lunch at LTT 12:00noon and Dinner at Narcoosees at 8:15
Wed. lunch at Brown Derby 12:00noon and Dinner at Yachtsman 8:05
Thurs. lunch at Biergarten at noon and Dinner at Tutto Italia at 7:50
Fri. breakfast at Crystal Palace at 8:00am - leave at 3:00 for airport

This leaves me with one table service credit and I'm not sure where to use it. Should I hope that we get in on time and make a lunch ADR on Mon, hope that we get seated on time and make a lunch ADR on Friday, or do another breakfast and hope I don't explode from 3 TS in one day? :confused:

Has anyone eaten at Chefs de France lately?

I have 1 more day till I book my ADR's and i am scrambling now, i don't know what i want to do, i def. want char. meals, my kids still need that little stimulation to sit down and eat....
I only know 3 places i want to eat, CRT for DD's 5th bday (hoping to get what i want) and Akershus the princess story book breakfast
I also want Trex (I know its not on the dining plan, but i need something for the boys)
so since CRT takes 2 credits I can now only book 3 or 4 more if i have my math right... (dates r 3/6 to 3/13(checking out)
2 for CRT and 1 for Akershus
I want to try different places now
I've done Ohana, and chef mickey 2x and playhouse disney and crystal palace.....

The bad thing is i have no itinerary set up, i usually do what ever the dining ressies r for that day (providing they are in the park) if they are not in the park then its what ever we feel like doing, i know dangerous, right?

But guess what, I'm not gonna cancel ANY of them since I am excited for everyone one of them:D. Which now leads me to pay OOP.......so any advice on which ones that should be......I think I will have 2 meals to pay for.

:) Well, we did it!! We sent our ADR requests into the Club Level at the Poly tonight so they had them prior to the big Oct. 27th date. We were hoping that the Feb. Calendar would have come out but if we didn't quess Fantasmic on the right night, we will have to make changes later. So here they are.......what do you think?? (We are not on the DDP and we will not have Park Hopper)

What happens to CRT ressie if you drop DDP?

Right now, we're "signed up for" the dining plan, and we have a breakfast reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table. What happens to that reservation, if we decide to drop the DDP? Does that reservation automatically go away? Or, can we call Disney dining and pay for the reservation with a credit card? Or, can we pay when we get there?

We're debating dropping the dining plan, but don't want to take a chance on losing our CRT ressie.

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain or Beaches and Cream?

Okay let me explain my predicament. We will be at Disney for one day prior to a cruise. It has been 5 years since our last trip to the World (WAY too long) and who knows when we will be back? (Not a money issue as much as it is a schedule issue. It is hard coordinating schedules, as I am sure many of you know)

Anyway, we are not doing any of the parks. Just going to spend some time out and about at other places on property. We are trying to cram all of our non- park dining favorites into one day, and we are having a heck of a time. We also have some new places we'd like to try.

Our intention is to do Beaches and Cream for lunch, a choice of my mom and myself. Dad doesn't ask much, but he does want to do the ESPN Club for supper. I am not a huge fan of the ESPN Club food (love the atmosphere though).

We will also be hitting the DTD area. I have been looking forward to some Earl of Sandwich action, so my plan was to get a sandwich from Earl, eat it later in the day, and maybe just munch on something very small at ESPN.

A couple of other new things we want to try: Cookes of Dublin Dohbars. Also, Goofy's Candy Company is new since the last time we have been there. I am having a hard time deciding between the delicious looking cookies, candies, and do it yourself treats, so may just do it all!

In addition, we also plan to pick up some treats at Boardwalk Bakery (how will we ever choose?) for breakfast the day of embarkation.

Then, there is the ice cream conundrum. As long as it has been there, Ghirardelli has been a tradition for our family. But the more I see photos of Beaches and Cream ice cream concoctions, the more I want to try them. (only had burgers, never ice cream at B and C). Obviously two big huge ice cream sundaes seems a bit of overkill.

I don't want to make myself sick the day before a cruise. That is the worst case scenario in my mind. And also, knowing how much we will be eating on the ship itself, it seems like maybe we should be more prudent before we get on the boat.

Suggestions?

We got a surprize on our transportation to this breakfast leaving from Pop. Our adr was for 8:00 am. We was at the bus stop going to DHS. We got on the bus with this other family (mom and 2 sons). We thought that we would have to get off the bus at DHS and take the boat over to the Beach Club, this is where we was shocked the bus driver asked us where we were going we all said Beach Club that is where he took us all to for our character breakfast. We enjoyed this character breakfast. This character breakfast is very quiet. When we was there the restaurant was not quite half full. The buffet was yummy. We talked it over and decided that we would do this breakfast again in the future.

Also, when I DO finally pull up my reservation, will I be able to also see a tour reservation?

If I can't pull up my reservation, how am I going to do the on-line check in?

Since I'm anxiously waiting for Disney to release February's park hours and either the return of the 180 day adr window or November 03 my 90 day adr window date. I decided to play around and come up with a dining plan based on this year's information for February. Hopefully, next year wont be such a drastic change that I'll have to scrap everything and start over.

ts dinners will probably be between 7-8 or near park closing if the park closes earlier then 7/8pm also all of these are new to me except Tutto Italia which I've eaten at before but that was only for dessert so I've never actually had a meal there.

So my tentative dining plan is:

February 01, 2010: arrival day due at MCO about 5:10pm
qs dinner at POR or DtD for Earl of Sandwich after check in and ditching carry on bags in room depends on when I actually get there

February 02: ts dinner at Kona Cafe

February 03: ts dinner at SciFi Dine In Theater

February 04: ts dinner at LeCellier

February 05: ts dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern

February 06: ts dinner at Tutto Italia

February 07: ts dinner at Yak&Yeti

February 08: ts dinner at The Wave

February 09: ts breakfast at Chef Mickey's - this will be as early as possible to maximize what time I have before having to be back at POR to board DME about 3-3:30pm.

As for the qs lunches I know I'll be hitting Cosmic Ray's in the MK as I think I'm addicted to their ribs. Other then that I don't really have any qs places that I feel compelled to go back to. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about breakfast as I'm not a big breakfast person and will be on the dp. I can either use my snack credit or bring cereal to eat in my room and just pay oop for milk and save the snack credit for later in the day. Since I'm staying at POR and therefore will have a fridge I'm leaning toward the cereal option.

?? About the Plaza in MK........

I have a ressie for 7pm at the Plaza on a night that wishes is scheduled at 8pm. Can you see Wishes from inside, do they let you go ot and watch and then back to your table? Or is it possible to be in and out of there within one hour? Just me DH and DD.
Also, how is the food???? never eaten there, but looking forward to it.

Tickets and Meal plan Loophole?

Dining Plan
Disney offers a prepaid Dining Plan at Walt Disney World that can be a good value. However, it is ONLY available when you purchase a Magic Your Way vacation package that includes accommodations at a Disney-owned-and-operated hotel plus at least a 1-day theme park ticket per person. For that reason the Dining Plan option is not available to those booking "room only" reservations or Florida resident room-only discounts.

QUESTION: This states that the meal plan is available if you stay on the property and have at least one day tickets to the park. Would I be able to book our room, park tickets for 1 day and the meal plan for our entire trip, then buy tickets for the rest of our days in the part from the source on mousesavers? The way I see it, I would be able to save about $75 per person over the course of the trip.

Has anone else done this, or tried? Is this just to much to worry about.

Here's a stupid question: Has anyone ever asked for white or wheat bread instead of the "healthy" bread they use for sandwiches in the World? And did you get it? For instance, I liked the tuna in the sandwich at CHH, but really didn't enjoy the pebbles and twigs that were in the bread. :tongue: Do you have any other options?

Like the rest of the world, I will be making my ADR's on the 27th for our March trip. I've never made more than a couple at a time but we're doing the DDP this trip so I need TS for every night. Would I be better doing it online (7am right?) or over the phone? Should I try for more popular restaraunts first? Here's what we're looking at:

Question about 'changing' ADR's

We have been planning a trip in December with our family. 2 in our group have had to cancel:( My concern is: Do I have to change our reservations or can I keep them and just let them know when we arrive that 2 are missing? It scares me to think about having to change them due to that we got everything we wanted and I know that we won't be able to do that again (hard to get resies). Any thoughts about what to do or what I have to do??? TIA!!

Just did the on line reservations early :eek: this morning cause of time change, 5A.M. :crazy:

First time I used on-line res. It was pretty easy. I got all my ADR's, yay! We are going for a short vacay, 5 nights, first day we are arriving at MCO at 3:45, so going to eat CS for dinner that night.

I got Le Cellier! San Angel Inn, Kona, and Cali Grill woohoo!

Is 7:20 a good time for Cali Grill for 8:00 Wishes?

First time for Cali & San Angel for us.
