Gingerbread recipe from Grand Floridian

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for any of the gingerbread cookies from the Grand Floridian gingerbread house? I love those cookies as we got them for our Christmas Eve cookies for Santa in 2006 and 2008 when we were in WDW. Unfortunately, by the time we got there for both stays, all of the recipe cards were gone. :( Does anyone know of any other place to get the recipe or can share it? I am so sad that we won't be in WDW this Christmas! There is nothing better than WDW at Christmas!
Thanks for any help!

While making my PB&J at work today a coworker started laughing at me because I was using a spoon to spread the jelly. Um, ok, that's how I was taught as a child - by using a jelly spoon. She started laughing and telling me there's no such thing:rolleyes: Whatever. We also use a butter knife at home to spread butter.

So, am I the only one left to use a jelly spoon and a butter knife?

My mom has lots of cranberry sauce recipes, but what else can I make with them? I also have no clue what to do with the anise (except smell it...yum!). What was I thinking??

What can I add to my coffee?

I love half&half in my coffee. But I'm trying to cut back on calories and fat so I'm looking for a substitute.
Skim milk doesn't do it -- it lacks that depth and richness and adds no taste.
I tried fat free half & half -- liked it until I discovered that it doesn't wash out of my coffee mugs. They come out of the dishwasher with a white film in them that looks like I painted them with glue. (It's not on the other dishes, so I have to assume it's the ffh&h, not the dishwasher) Yuk -- makes me wonder what it does to me!
Any suggestions?

I know this is a shot in the dark, but a few years ago my parents went on a cruise and it stopped in Key West. My mother, knowing my love of hot sauces, brought me home a bottle of Key Lime Hot Sauce. I can picture the bottle like it was yesterday and it was soooo good. Of course it's been long gone, but I can't stop thinking about it. I tried googling it, but I couldn't find the one she had gotten me. It was maybe 16oz and had a white label. Does anyone know what I am talking about? If not, has anyone tried any of the other key lime hot sauces and if so, what did you think?

Per Lorie's request ;)

Island Kielbasa (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Island-Kielbasa-in-a-Slow-Cooker/Detail.aspx) :facelick:

While my attempt at the recipe was okay, it was not as good as my friend's. I used turkey kielbasa and it was just a little bit...okay, a lot...more salty than I would have liked. (we're pretty much a salt-free family unless it's for steak on the grill or corn-on-the-cob) Apparently, turkey kielbasa has a lot more salt than 'regular' kielbasa. Another way I probably could have lowered the salt content may have been to use a ketchup with less sodium. I would definitely recommend reading the reviews/comments/suggestions that are listed beneath the recipe.

DH usually makes our bread in the bread machine, but today I decided to make "real old fashioned bread" and use the KitchenAid dough hook to knead it. I've got 2 loaves of Honey Wheat bread doing their final rise right now - can't wait until I can smell them cooking. (I think this is spurred on by my reluctance to work on my term paper - due Wed.)

I'm thinking of asking for a bread machine for Christmas - now that the girls are gone - it's just John, Sarah and I. Sarah doesn't like a lot of the commercial breads - but she loves the homemade stuff. I don't have time to bake and knead myself - so I'm thinking a machine might be great!! (Make my own pizza dough too!)

If you have one - what brand and/or features do you recommend??

What recipes have worked well for you?

What recipes were not worth your time?

Thanks in advance!

I always have hard boiled eggs in my fridge. 20yr old DD is trying to get from 110 to 105 pounds  and she grabs one for a snack when she is hungry. I take one to work in the morning for breakfast if I am running late. I make egg salad (with light mayo) for sandwiches. I should have started doing this years ago.

Do you have any other easy staples that you always have?

I always have hard boiled eggs in my fridge. 20yr old DD is trying to get from 110 to 105 pounds  and she grabs one for a snack when she is hungry. I take one to work in the morning for breakfast if I am running late. I make egg salad (with light mayo) for sandwiches. I should have started doing this years ago.

I've heard you can do it -- does the skin get crunchy or stay gooey?

A friend of mine once tried it with an envelope of ranch dressing. When I looked online I found all kinds -- with ranch dressing, with italian dressing, with gravy mix too. Some add liquid, some don't. Too many choices!
Any experience with this?

I need a new apple pie recipe for this year. I have tried several the last few years and they were just ok. I took over the challenge when my grandmother died so I need to raise the bar more. Any one have a great recipe? BTW, I use premade crust so I just need the pie insides and time/temp recipe if you are typing it

Pumpkin seeds

We craved the kids pumpkins last night and saved all the seeds. We put them on aluminum foil to dry after we rinsed them off. How long should we let them dry? And, when toasting them in the oven what temperature and how long?

The kids are real excited. This is the first time we have let them help with craving the pumpkins, and want to taste the seeds.

Thanks,

Michael

It was a gloomy day here in NC. I decided to make some soup. However in a desperate attempt to use only items I had in my kitchen I found this blog

A Year of Slow Cooking: Slow Cooker Baked Potato Soup Recipe (http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2009/06/crockpot-baked-potato-soup-recipe.html)

I used my slow cooker but you could easily make it on the stove!

The potato soup turned out so yum! I didn't quite use 5 lbs and I only used 1 1/2 qts of broth and 12 oz cream cheese.

I topped it off with shredded cheese, bacon, and fresh chives.

It seemed like there was a lot when it was finished DH and I had about 2 bowls (lunch and dinner) (even my picky 3 year old) had seconds and there is only a tiny bit left (which I hid in the back of the refrigerator) so I can have some to take to work for lunch!

Shh don't tell!;)
