Changing themes in Firefox

I have been using Firefox lately due to issues with Internet Explorer. But for some reason I can’t change the theme. I’m guessing there must be some kind of setting in Firefox I need to change to do this, I just don’t know what it is. I have no problem changing the themes using IE, but can’t using Firefox. Anyone have any ideas.

A lot of the time - like, three times out of four - when I try to follow a link in the forums, or post something ... I get a permanent "Loading" state. Connection never even times out. As a matter of fact, it is happening while I try to post THIS, too. It can even happen when trying to use the "preview" button, before actually posting. Yes, that's happening for this post, too.

I am using Firefox 3.5.5, in a 64-bit Vista environment with AVG Internet Security Suite v9; this is hte ONLY forum or website I have ever encountered, that has had this problem.

And, actually, I used to get it a lot on the old computer - whichw as running Windows XP, service pack 2. I no longer recall whichs pecific version, but that was Firefox as well.

Is there a known fix, OTHER than "don't use Firefox" ...?

I'm trying to DL pics from my computer to my album. The size is right I think (5*7 at 72 dpi) I even tried 400*300 pixels at 72 dpi. When I upload them, I get the filename instead of the picture. If I click on the filename the picture does show up. I've done this many times before and the picture always shows up. What am I going wrong.
