| I have a niece!!!!!! My sister in law broke the curse!!!! The men in my husband's family have produced nothing but boys for the past 2 generations. My sister in law (who is married to my husband's brother-- he only has brothers obviously) had a girl today!!!! I'm so excited. I finally get to buy some pink. I'm an only child-- so no nieces on my side of the family. Hopefully my little niece will never realize that her mom and I don't get along very well I'm so excited about having a niece!!!! I can't wait to buy lots and lots of girl stuff!! Her name is Ava and she was 7 pounds!! She's very healthy!!! EDITING TO ADD Thanks for the well wishes. Nancy you just made me realize how bad the curse sounded. We just all say that jokingly (its been used before I was even part of the family). Of course, I love my boys to death and have never wished they were girls (once they were born, while I was pregnant I wouldn't have minded if my youngest was a girl, but once he was born, I was very very happy). "The curse" is used in jest-- I didn't mean it seriously (its also used by all of father in law's brothers and wives-- its a big family of just boys). Of course we love all of our boys very much!!! I never realized how bad that sounded. Luckily my boys are too young to understand when everyone jokes about it. | Re: I have a niece!!!!!! Isn't that wonderful! I know what you mean, when someone in the family finally breaks the.... well, I wouldn't call it a curse.... how about spell? Anyway, when my brother had a daughter, she was the first female born in our family in 25 years! That's just on my side of the family. DH Paul has two sisters, and they both had daughters. Our firstborn boy broke the opposite spell of only girls for 30 years on his side.Woohoo! I'm so happy for all of you! |
