| Had a Tooth Pulled - Need Healing Pixies
Remember that tooth from a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG time ago that needed to be pulled. I had a root canal done in it, then at my dentists insistance I replaced several silver fillings with the white because he acted like I was going to die if I kept them in there. Well one fell out 3 TIMES!! The last time, I chomped down on the tooth with the root canal and cracked the tooth all the way down into the root. Then it abscessed (yep the one with the root canal). Then I ignored it, for let's say a LONGGGGGGGG time - *I see you rolling your eyes!* LOL
Finally last night, the entire filling fell out and I could see the pins they put in the roots. WHOOPS [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]
Went to a CHOP shop today (only place I could get in) and he decides to cut all around the tooth and bone so he could get it out in one chunk. Let's just say I have a hole back there the size of THREE molars.
I'm really worried about pain control because I've got Fibromyalgia and any type of pain in normally magnified. I do have some *good drugs* - but because this is literally the busiest time of the year for our business (we sell Antique/Vintage Jewelry online) I can't afford to "miss work".
Normally just from a numbing/filling my jaw is sore for WEEKS. I'm REALLY worried about how this looks and how long it's going to take to heal and how much pain I may be in. The dentist didn't even pre-numb the skin before he gave me shots, I started crying - OK really bad, hiccup crying - I'm SUCH a baby and things are starting to unnumb and is starting hurt more and more as the minutes go by.
Anyways, any healing pixies would sure be appreciated and also so I don't get dry socket!! The nurse (is that what they're called??) practically hugged me until I calmed down and then this other lady came in and held my hand the WHOLE time. So they were nice, but I do think this is one of those "quickie" places to get teeth pulled.
Also, I'm having some emotional distress about losing a tooth as my teeth are what I think are my best feature and before you think I'm too vain, I came from a body of over 300lbs and it really was the prettiest thing about me, so losing a tooth is having a dramatic affect on me. (Oh but I have lost 85lbs now - so hopefully I soon have some other features to be proud of! OK, wait that didn't sound right! LOL I mean, not having a double chin and stuff like that! LOL!! YEA).

You got it! I love compassion from dental professionals, it definitely makes the difference. My dentist brushes the hair off my forehead and I love it! Here's hoping you are feeling a lot better. Don't forget to take the pain meds as they will actually help with the healing and perhaps even make it quicker for you to be able to get back to work feeling fine.
