Today we began the morning by picking up the truck. Somehow, when I booked it and confirmed the 22' one, it didn't register how big it was. We pulled up to the storage place and there the big yellow monster sat, complete with the auto tow. They overestimated the tax and it ended up being $30 cheaper than we thought. This was a good thing.
Came home and began loading at 10:30- boxes were a piece of cake. Large pieces of furniture that I now will have some degree of disdain for having struggled to get it into the Yellow Monster. 1) TV 2) Our mattress and 3) dining room table.
It was somewhere around 2 pm Kevan claimed he was making an executive decision that we were completely loading up and would spend the night at a hotel. I let him think he made the executive decision. I completely liked the executive decision.
Neighbors stopped by all day and even one of my students and her mom came by. Keys were turned into the landlord at 8:30 and we got Chick Fil A for dinner. Our plan is to leave by 5 AM and exhausted as we are, Kevan is reading and when I found out the hotel had wireless internet, I had to come on here!
If I can, I will post tommorrow night from beeee autiful Pensacola. Our journey takes us south to pat Little Rock into very southern Arkansas, with a brief pass through Louisiana and then down into Mississippi and Alabama before getting to Pensacola via I-10.
I will also try to take a picture of Yellow Monster. Kevan is already stressing a bit about having to steer it on exits for bathroom breaks. We'll see!!
PS- In the midst of this, I got a very exciting phone call- check out another post for details.
