| At least the season's over.... DD Kathryn just played her last volleyball game for the year. It was a JV/Varsity vs. Faculty/Staff game. The faculty won - in a tie breaker game. 15 to 9. The only problem was that the coach didn't put Kathryn in until the last 2 serves of the last game. She got to almost reach for the ball - one of her teammates got to it first, and then hit it away from anyone else. And, it was a stressful night for all of the girls. Right before the game, they had to vote on whether or not to kick one of the girls off the team. Evidently, one of the games that Kathryn didn't make (due to being in WDW with my mom), the girl (A.) blew up and yelled at/insulted/cursed at all of her teammates, the coach, and the officials. AND she apologized to the OTHER team for causing a scene, but said nothing to her team - not even after the fact. So, she was voted off. Kathryn abstained since she wasn't there - I'm so proud of her for that - she said she just couldn't make that call, no matter what anyone said!! Anyway, right as the game was getting ready to start, I mean they had called the line up for the teachers, and had called 3 of the girls, A's dad started yelling at the coach, and when the athletic director got involved, he started yelling so loudly we could hear him across the gym "I'll leave when I'm d*&#ned good and ready!" and lots of other things. He's one of those parents that stands on the sidelines and coaches, yells at his DD, yells at the coach, and has put down other players becuase they weren't good. He was escorted out of the gym by the high school principal. It was a good way to show Kathryn that although she hasn't gotten the chance to play much this year, she's been a good teammate, and has had a good attitude most of the time. (And her parents volunteer for everything, and are nice to everyone!). Have to add that it made me really proud that when her coach finally decided to put her in (remember, right at the end of the game), EVERYONE in the gym cheered for her!! Even the teachers on the other "team". If I can figure out how to, I'll post pictures of Lauren's principal dressed as a cheerleader. Picture this: tall, thin English man in his mid-thirties. Black tights, black shorts, orange shirt (shirt for the teachers team), waist length purple hair, and because he didn't have knee pads - diapers taped to his knees!! (he has 2 year old TRIPLETS! - well, he has some help from his wife)

| What a proud mama you must be Teresa! Sounds like your DD has come a long way since the beginning of VB season. Kudos to her for showing true athleticism by being a good sport. I hope that next year she will be starting just fine. |

| Congratulations to Kathryn for such good sportsmanship. Having been thru this with eldest DD and softball, it is very, very hard. Her coach will remember all these things in the future, as will her teammates and she will grow to such a phenomenal young woman!
