| ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I feel your pain and empathize with you. We unexpectedly lost my grandfather 11 years ago on July 5th during our family reunion. This holiday is tough for our family as well. I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. FWIW, we try and remember his legacy and celebrate him rather than remember it as the anniversary of his passing. That helps us get through the weekend a bit easier.....maybe if you focus on the postive, the negative won't be as bothersome. |

| I can relate a bit - May is bad for us, and June not much better - but there are wonderful things then, too. In May, 15 years ago, my MiL died suddenly, the Thursday before Mother's Day. I was 9.5 months pregnant with my and DH's 1st DD (although we both had kids by from other relationships). Then, 10 years ago in May, the Saturday before Mother's Day, our 4 yr. old niece was killed in a car accident. Our 2nd DD was 3 months old. 18 years ago in June, my DD from my high school affair was injured and almost killed in a freak accident. The good things to come from those months sometimes are harder to remember - my DD being born after MiL died, 3 years after that, on DD's b-day, we got another niece, the day my other DD was injured and fighting for her life in one hospital, my SiL was in another, giving birth to another child! My point is rambling - and hard to follow, but what I mean is that while bad things happen, so do wonderful things. You may just have to look harder for the good things. The bad things make themselves known, often with a vengence. I hope you find some peace this year. Pixies for you, to make it through this month, and that your Granddad gets better. |
