The more I try to cut back -the more things jump up to bite me! Our electric company raised the rates 30% - right as the temps are in the 90's every day! The dishwasher is looking like it could be on it's last legs - the rack on top has come unattached from the rollers?!?! And we have three different family/friend commitments in the next two weeks - each at least a two hour drive (gas, gas, gas) away.......
I feel your pain!

can't you just agree with him and act like a bigger nutter? ( I mean w/o the girls around of course) I mean, if he thinks he can't annoy you or you sound crazier than he does, I don't know... I just tend to fight fire with fire.

The economy is going to crash in September? Is that what they're reporting, or is that what your DH says--- I was a little confused. I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time though

It's the latest "theory" that hubby has announced. I asked him where he got his information and he clammed up b/c DDs were sitting there and he could tell I was WAY beyond . I did google it and here's what it says (don't have a beverage in your mouth when you read, I am NOT responsible for cola on computer screens... ):

"I am giving a heads up to you all as I now have 3 independent sources from the blogosphere that warn of the crash of the US economy in Sep 2008. In 4Q2008 martial law is likely to be declared in the US as a response to food riots that will result from the hyperinflation of the US dollar. In Feb 2009 the solution will be rolled out: merger of Canada, USA and Mexico to form the North American Union, with a new currency, called the Amero to be launched."

Who comes up with this stuff???

Sounds a little off the wall to me. But I am not an economist. Just a person maintaining 2 households on one gov't paycheck.
I don't believe everything I read.
Maybe we should start stocking up on rice and flour?????

Crash

You know how people on here are always saying "Id rather sweat at Disney than sweat at home?" Well, Id rather be at Disney when the economy crashes than at home!

My husband does this all the time. Of course he has a lot of time out there on the road to think of things and it seems to be what most of the people are talking about that he runs into out there.
Right now he wants to stock up on guns (wants 4 or 5 in the house) oh and did I mention that I really hate guns? He wants to put in a wood burning stove, get 2 generators, put in solar panels and wind mills.
The other day he told me that he decided we need to pull all our money out of the bank and keep it at the house.

Then he complains about how much everything is and he can't believe hes spending all this money on Disney (even though it was his idea) .. constantly tells me cut back, save, cut back, save etc, etc,

Well the more I cut back something else happens.

Had to get new tires for the van
Need to go to the dentist ( I have no health ins whatsoever)
I have to get a dent fixed that I acc. put in the side of the van (long story)
School supplies and clothes....

Its neverending

Sorry didn't mean to take over

You know - the Shakers believed that "The End" was near - that's why they didn't (ahem) procreate.
Oh, and so did the Disciples, and about every generation of humans since the beginning of time.
Maybe you could point that out to your DH?
