| I've just survived three days of H E double hockey sticks!! And I am BEAT!!! The most I ever work is 2 in a row, and usually on my weekends. 12's are so tough and throw in the factor of night shift and well-you get my point. Plus, by the time I fight somewhat heavy traffic on the way home (I take a longer route to avoid the heavy congestion to the east & west of the city) I'm lucky to get 5 hours sleep in between shifts on a good day-worse if the weather is bad. We have been slammed all weekend though-Saturday was okay but Sunday I had 6 patients (not all at once, they'd deliver, recover, and go to post partum) and did 3 deliveries myself (my record for a 12 hour shift is 5 deliveries) and last night I can't tell you how many babies I either delivered myself or was baby nurse for a colleague. I'm tired.....and have 3 glorious days off. My dogs are a BARKIN' I tell ya!!    |
