| it makes me all choke up all the love you get from people who do not even know you . and the support i get from all here on the boards. i really feel like when i go on thursday it is like the verizon commercial everyone is behind me , for that alone i will get through this with no problems . i just want to start by saying THANKS to jenn and dave for this site . and everyone one else behind me this truly feels like a second family THANK YOU ALL AGAIN. | The 10-12 hours without eating beforehand is entirely for your protection. While you're under anesthesia and deep asleep you could vomit and then inhale it (we call it aspirate). That could leave you with a nasty bad case of pneumonia. Remember to take it easy, relax and recuperate!!  |

| My mom had this done a few years back, and she did fine. I'm sure you're doing just as well!!

| I had the same surgery six years ago. Believe me, you will be happy you didn't eat or drink if the anesthesia makes you sick (I threw up). Good luck!
