| Could you spare a pixie? Well I finally bit the bullet and had my wisdom teeth removed this morning. Of course I never had to have them removed when I was younger and healed faster, you know like normal people do. I was put out for the whole thing and had all 4 taken out. It hasn't been too bad today so far - just the lower jaw hurts but I expected that since those suckers were laying sideways. Seeing as I'm a major caffeine-a-holic and no hot or carbonated drinks today, I've been drinking iced coffee all day (which I love and hardly ever have, so it's been like a special treat.)I only had one sobbing fit earlier today. I had just started thinking I should probably take a pain pill - the office said I wouldn't need to until a little later because I'd still be numb - when wow did that pain hit like a ton of bricks. Of course I was still bleeding so I'm trying to swallow the pain pill, but having a hard time because of the bleeding, plus I couldn't open my mouth very far. The whole thing was just too much and the tears started flowing ![]() . I usually have no problems taking meds but that one was rough. Poor DBF tried making me feel better but I was just crabby and crying, then I felt even worse for being so cranky towards him. Needless to say 20 minutes post pain pill, and life was groovy again Last edited by Mares75; 08-21-2008 at 11:39 AM. |

| ![]() ![]() ![]() Also use ice packs, it will help with swelling and bruising. I had all 4 of mine at the same time. You will be fine, just don't wait until you need a pain pill to take one.

| BTDT......when I had mine pulled plus one more. It's pretty bad the first few days but luckily the mouth heals very quickly. Just make sure you take your pain meds regularly so your pain doesn't get out of control......if you wait that long again the meds won't work as well since they're playing catch-up with your pain. And don't forget to not drink out of a straw-you'll dislodge the clots that are forming and cause dry-socket which is a VERY painful and BAD condition..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hang in there!! |
