| Andrew Franklin ***** was born this morning around 1:00!!!  He weighs 6 lbs 10 oz - can you imagine if he'd gone full term?  He is in the NICU and requiring some assistance with breathing.  My sister will have to leave before him which she is absolutely wild about. But hopefully his lungs will develop a bit over the next few days and he can come home soon. Thank you so much for all the pixies - I KNOW they helped!

| Congrats to your Dsis! That's a good healthy size for a preemie. Pixies that his lungs figure themselves out in a few days.

| Compared to the 1 and 2 lb'ers I'm used to delivering early, that's a very good size for 35 weeks. Had she carried to term she would have easily had a 10 lb'er!! The lungs are the last to mature so that'll be the big hurdle. That and slowing their respirations down so they can feed without risk of choking and inhaling the formula/breast milk. Many more from the resident Passporter L&D nurse!   |
