| Enough with the weather and flooding The rivers around here aren't supposed to crest for a couple of days. They expect flood stages around St Charles country and on the Meremac River. Lucky for them, they still have the sand bags in place from the flooding this spring

| I'm with you on that vote. We missed school today and will again tomorrow as our county is under a state of emergency due to all the damage, especially to power lines, that we sustained during yesterday's Ike-inspired wind storm. If we have much snow, we'll be in school forever.

| We're not going there at all! I haven't seen a wooly bear caterpiller to verify this, but I was told it was going to be a good winter.

| It's been two weeks since Gustav made his arrival here and I think everyone is still very storm weary. Our kids missed 7 school days from Gustav and a half day last Friday because of Ike. Many of our friends were planning Disney trips for the end of the school year, but I'm not sure yet how the school is going to make up the days that were missed. I hope this is the end of the bad weather for this year!
