Talking Powder Puff Football???

My DD14 came home from school yesterday and said she signed up for powder puff football. I was really surprised. She started high school this year in a different school. We did school of choice. She loves the school but doesn't know too many people. A couple of her friends signed up so she thought she would too. She said it would be a great way to meet people. She has played softball, what seems like her whole life!! I am so proud of her trying something new. She has no idea how to play, but will soon!!!! Has anybody ever played or seen this?

I've never seen it but it sounds like a good idea. Good luck to her - she's got guts trying something so different

I played powderpuff football all four years of high school. Anyone who was a homecoming rep was required to, and others could sign up as well. It was so much fun! The real football players were the cheerleaders.

We had powderpuff at my high school. It was great. The girls wore tshirts and shorts with their number written on the behind and the real football players were the cheerleaders and homecoming queens. Complete with makeup, wigs, and high heels. She will have a blast!

At my highschool we had one game every year between the junior girls and the senior girls (the seniors always won ). Boys dressed up like girls to be cheerleaders. It was quite a competition but it wasn't a league.

Powder Puff was awesome! Atleast 20 years ago! Football captains coached and was cheerleaders. Girls actually wore real jerserys, I still have mine. Memories......

I played in high school and it was lots of fun! Like others said, it was just for a special game at our school.

My daughter (13) actually plays in a recreational NFL flag football league for fun. She loves it!

I am from the generation before girls sports, but there is a local women's football team in our area.

I do commend your DD on signing up and she is right, a sports team is a great way to meet new people. When my quiet Dd went off to college, being on a sports team helped her have a ready made group of girls to hang out with who become great friends.

I played in junior high. 1 year. I learned Saturday morning autumn games (soccer) are a lot warmer than Saturday night autumn games (football). 1 year was enough for me.

Never heard of it until Samantha went to High School - and she couldn't do it. It was only one game a year, and it was Jrs. and Srs. I don't remember if the boys were cheerleaders.
