| I think you're in a wonderful profession. The world needs more compassionate nurses like you. My L&D nurses were amazing and I am so grateful to them. The oncology nurses who helped my mom . . . angels. My sister's placenta sheared away prematurely, too . . . but luckily she was in the hospital at the time and they saved my niece with a emergency c-section. Her nurse was the one who called it fast so they could get her into surgery. Her nurse saved my niece's life. I hope you have a better week. ![]()

| I can only add my thanks too Jookie, for your profession. Any of us who have dealt with the loss of a pregnancy or child during childbirth, thank you. Any of us who had healthy children thank you. It takes a special person. You are a special person! ![]()

| Jooki...I am so sorry you had such a stressful and heart-rending weekend. You have so much strength of character and compassion. It is tough, but I think you are where you are needed. Vent away, sweetie...we're here for you. Thank you so much for what you do...I was lucky...had 2 easy pregancies, but that doesn't mean I didn't come to love my nurses.

| WHOA sista. What a weekend. Working in an ICU I see my fair share of critical moments and codes....but not with babies. How different our clinical worlds are. I got into nursing for the NICU though. I have weekends just like you where I think to myself, "Why am I DOING this?" But, it is truly the most rewarding thing I have ever done, and it sounds to me like you have a true passion for nursing as well. to all those families, and the nurses and doctors who helped everything along.

| I'm sorry you had such a bad weekend. When my oldest was born, she was 6 weeks early because I had pre-eclampsia which developed into HELLP Syndrome. My delivery was pretty good, but my Sarah had trouble breathing and had to be rushed to the NICU in a hospital an hour away. That first night, after her birth was agonizing - the baby that I had carried with me for seven months was no longer in my belly, she was an hour away fighting for her life, and my husband was with her 'cause I insisted she not be alone. If it hadn't been for the nurses in L&D reassuring me and encouraging me and crying with me, I never would have made it through. Then when I got to the hospital my DD was in, those nurses helped me through three of the most terrifying weeks of my life. Sarah came off the vent after three days and we thought OK, she'll be coming home soon. Wrong!!! She then developed a tear in her intestine and we agonized over NEC and prayed the tear didn't perforate, or she would need life-saving surgery. Jooki what I'm trying to tell you is if it hadn't been for those angels on earth that are in the nursing profession, I would not have made it through those three weeks and the roller coaster ride that was my DD's recovery! You are someone's angel in their darkest time. I know it's gotta be tough on you, but the work you do is so amazing! I hope you get to feeling better and remember how important you work is to people. Sending many pixies for you and the families of those precious little ones!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kathy
