Oh Jooki! I understand that you really needed someone to talk to! What a horrible day!! Sometimes you just need to talk about it. It is way too much stress to keep inside.

I remember coming home from long shifts at the hospital and just wanting to pour out my troubles to my hubby. They just don't understand. This is the same person who wondered why I didn't get a lunch break! Uh...Hello! Living breathing Human Beings. You can't just walk away!

Anyway...I am rambling! As I read your post it was like I could envision each scenerio in my mind. I have been a nurse for ten years now. 5 years SICU and 5 years NICU. I am an NP now and work in a clinic, but still work in the NICU a couple days a month. So, all of the patients you helped, reminded me of many of my own.

Being a nurse is sometimes the most difficult job ever! You see people at their worst and their best. You can truly touch the lives of many. You really are an angel!!

Thanks for all you do for others. I know as a nurse you don't always get the thanks that you deserve.

Seven years later, I still keep in touch with Izzy's NICU nurse, she is amazing and I am thankful lucky she took care of my baby when I couldn't.

I am sorry that you had such a bad weekend. I know that all the moms that you were involved with are so appreciative that you were there doing your best to help them and their babies at this critical time and that is what they will always remember.

I miss the nights I spent working post-partum and nursery. We are all in the places we need to be when we need to be there for a reason.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and stronger. I always read your posts about your job with interest. Reminds me of why I'm studying and not doing stuff with my kids. And, reminds me why I don't want to be a NICU or L&D nurse. I admire those that are - but the thought to going through what you do every day makes me say NO! Not for me!
(now, I love the idea of geriatrics and I understand a lot of people hate that, so I'm okay that there's something I don't want to do)
