| I'm sure the cat will be fine. But you might not ever see him again. He may have found some place he liked better. We used to live in the country, though near a lot of other homes. We had three cats (Mom and two daughters). Mom was not a very loving cat and treated her children poorly. One day the two daughters disappeared. We had no idea where they went, but figured the Mom had finally run them off. We were very sad, just as you guys are.  Several months later, we found out that one of them was living in a nearby barn (a semi-friend of my brother's). They said she was fine staying there since she was caring for herself, so we left her. The other one we never saw again. We just hope she had found a home as well.
