| In need of pixies, please I lost my job this morning and I'm really starting to stress about it. I knew we were going to be downsizing, but never thought it would affect me. Part of me thinks that maybe it's a blessing in disguise because I've been thinking about other options, but the truth of the matter is that the job market is awful right now. I filed for unemployment and the lady I spoke with told me that she'd put me in the system as looking for something, but that it doesn't look good. Who knows how long I'll be without a job. If I could get some pixies that things work out however they're supposed to I would appreciate it. Thanks, Melissa |

| i don't know what you do for a living, but if there is a college or university near you apply there. some of the bigger colleges even have their own temp pools to pull from. in downturning economies, people return to school so colleges are a good employment base.

| Breath deep. I've been there and know how scary those first couple of days are when you're trying to figure out what next. Spend some time trying to figure out if you want to continue in your current profession or make a change to something else. Try a temp agency if you think it will help. If you get stuck still looking, remember that the holiday season is just around the corner and you may be able to get a seasonal position to tide you over. But don't panic. This can really work out for you in the end. It did for both my DH and me. I know it doesn't seem like it TODAY, but in time you might just find yourself better off. Pixies for feeling better. ![]()
