| Eileen, continued ![]() ![]() to you, and your son and family. I don't know why, but I had a feeling it was your family and a diabetes diagnosis. Glad to hear your son has been handling it pretty well. Take your time coming back here, your family and their health the most important thing. | ||||

| ![]() ![]() for your family! My aunt has Type 1 diabetes and she is now 67 years old or so. She has not taken care of herself very well through the years (it is like she does not want to accept that she is diabetic, even now) but she is still going strong. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Danielle

| I'm so glad DS is doing well and adjusting so wonderfully! He's a trooper and I love his attitude about "working" Karen along side you! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree and you have shown him in your own life that you keep on chugging and don't let things stop you! Continued and for all three of you!

| ![]() ![]() ![]() My dear old dad had diabetes and was very careful about checking his blood sugar and dosing himself properly and did very well for a long, long time. I have a cousin that has the pump and stays very active and eats well. It is good to hear your DS will get a pump soon! I think it is time for a physical for the reat of us!

| ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() : pixie:![]() ![]() One of my favorite cases ever was advocating for a diabetic 6 year old who was denied admission to an after school program. She was accepted after some correspondence between the program's attorney and I. I was extremely impressed at how well a 6 year old could handle herself and her disease. One interesting fact I learned was that childhood diabetes was increasing fairly rapidly. This little girls had three other diabetic children in the first grade class at her school. The school nurse was an excellent resource. Diane |

| for you and your son! What a trooper!! Chop is FANTASTIC!! There are also lots of really great support networks and groups in the area (I have a friend just over the bridge(nj) who's little girl was diagnosed a few years ago, and they have a great group of friends who all have to pay attention to blood sugars, so at playdates their daughter doesn't ever feel like the odd one.... anyway more![]() |

| I'm just so happy that they caught it and were able to help him so much at the children's hospital. He is so lucky to have such awesome parents who will be with him every step of the way.Sounds like your sense of humor is already kicking in. It is a life changing thing, but with you there to guide him, he's going to be just fine Eileen.Tons of pixies. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
