| For my nephew.... Remember me asking for pixies to keep him safe as he just left for US Army bootcamp at Ft. Benning, GA? Well, we got some bad news that has him absolutely devastated. He has a perforated ear drum that apparently wasn't picked up on at the MEPS (military enlistment processing station) and he's been told he cannot proceed and is going to be discharged. He is utterly devastated as he was really looking forward to serving his country and following in his dad's footsteps. The military discipline is just what he needed too in this point in his life. Now I'm very afraid of what may become of him...... Are there any pixies left that could perhaps make a happier ending? I know I've asked for lots of them lately.....I hope you all know how very grateful I am. |

| ![]() Since most perforated eardrums heal on thier own in a few months, can't he re-enlist once that has happened? He should be able to. Have him check with his recruiter.

Obviously he's already enlisted, signed the papers, etc.....he's entitled to the health care that could take care of this issue. It's not his fault they didn't catch it at the MEPS yet he's the one being punished. | |

DS2 had a similar issue...he has a concave chest. It prevents his lungs from expanding fully in order to be able to complete the run part of the physical readiness test. Yet, it was 4 months before they determined that! You can LOOK at him and see he has a concave chest! it all works out ok! DS2 ended up being discharged too, but has no hope of going in with his chest.

| I have heard that what one military branch denies, another may consider. Would he be interested in trying the USAF or Navy or USMC? ![]() ![]() ![]()
