| I just hate when my kids are sick and there is no official diagnosis!! Nothing better than having a kid with a sore throat and a positive strep test. Give me an illness, diagnosis and a cure and I'm one happy camper!! Hope he feels better!

He did do good last night. No complaints! Made him drink a "sports" type drink with lots of electrolytes and such. Maybe he was getting was getting dehydrated. I was a little worried about the sugar content, but then I remembered, he's just like Dad - high metabolism and can eat anything and everything and not gain extra weight!!!! Gonna have him drink another one over the course of today and see how tonight goes! Thanks for all the pixies and concerns!!!

| I can remember suffering similar "cramp like" abdominal pains when I was a child. Lower left quadrant and lower right quadrant, just like appendicitis. It generally happened in summer, and generally when I'd been "active" during the day (but not excessively so). My doctor at the time put it down to possible cramps caused by electrolyte depletion brought on by perspiring a lot during the warm days and although I was generally "hydrated" well with water, he suggested adding a little salt (VERY little!) to a glass of water before bed time. The outcome . . . cured! The "salt water" was "prescribed" before the days of readily available "re-hydration" sports drinks etc. Today, I excpect I'd have been given something equivalent to Gatorade! Just a thought!

| Hello! Is the pain in his low abdomen or could it be classed as his side? My DD actually had a chest infection a couple of years ago which puzzled the doctors until she had an Xray. She had a high temperature and was crying in pain. She was holding her tummy/side and they did think water infection as her chest sounded clear when they checked. anyway the xray showed 'atypical pneumonia' the infection was in the lower part of her lung. once she got her meds things picked up right away thankfully!

| Well, another night with making him drink some "Gatorade" and another night with no more pains - Think he may have been dehydrated!!! It's easy to do here. And he is TERRIBLE about drinking enough water even though I tell him to constantly!! He is 12 years old and I shouldn't have to stand over him and pour it down his throat!! This so worries me for him going to Boy Scout Jamboree in Virginia in August!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| That makes since about dehydration--when I went to an amusement park for two days straight holding a 1 yr old climbing 500 stairs in a cave and pushing a double stroller uphill I had cramps like abdominal cramps where my stomach would siege and let go for 1 week. My dad thought I had pulled some muscles and my mom thought it was something I ate but now I think I was dehydrated.
