| Cat Issues, Need Advice Hey everyone! I have 3 cats, all DSH, none with any health problems except that all of them are upchucking thier food soon after they eat it. And it isn't every single day, but I would say one of them (or more than one of them) does it at least once every other day or so. I have them on Purina One Indoor Advantage Weight/Hairball mixed with the same brands Urinary Tract Health formula and they've been on this brand for several years, so I know it isn't the brand being new that's doing it. They get fed once a day, usually at night and my best theory up until now is that they are all just eating too fast and too much and then bringing it back up, because it's literally just undigested food. I am tempted to switch to the Sensitive Stomachs formula that is available, except that they have done so well hairball-wise (they shed A LOT and the issue used to be constant puking of hairballs) on this formula that I hate to change it. Anyone else ever have the same issue and can offer some advice? |

| My Missy had the same problem and I did switch to one of the sensitive stomach brands. She did much better on that and so did my carpets LOL. Missy is gone now - she lived to a ripe old age of 19. I miss her. |

| My carpets are a beige color at least so a little Resolve and no one is ever the wiser. I miss all of my babies who are no longer here, so I feel ya. Good to know you had success with the sensitive stomach kind...I may need to try it out and see how things go. |

| My mom's cat is like that. They had to start feeding her 2 times a day. She gets less food at one time so her tummy can handle it.

| One of my cats is just like that. She eats way too fast and then throws it up. Not every day and usually chunks of food. eww, gross, but I know it is due to our other cat who is the bigger bully in my home. Mimi eats so fast since Callie is always pushing her way to the food dish.

| We have the same issue. One of our cats eats way to fast sometimes and its prolly due to the other being a bit of a bully at meal time. We feed them twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. If I notice their food bowls are completely empty during the day, I will give them about a tbsp of food just to have a little something to tide them over 'til dinner time.

| We used to have that problem (again, probably due to eating too fast because of the "bully"), so we actually started just free feeding them all day......They eat more often, but eat much less at a time now, which seems to do the trick. At this point we are only getting the vomit about 1-2 month, instead of all the time.

| This is a common problem with cats. Cats tend to eat too fast and vomit right away. My cat use to do this every once in a while. You can try to free feed the cats. You might still see them vomit, but it will cut down on the problem. ![]()

| They all have their "own" food dish which cuts down on them pushing each other out of the way to eat. I may try the 2 times a day thing and see how that works. The issue that comes into play is when I work a 24 hour shift (normally 2x a week) I am only home in the morning to feed them and then they wouldn't get fed again until the next morning. Which, I think contributes to their fast eating, they're like, "when will she ever feed us again!" Thanks for letting me this isn't uncommon, I;ve just never had a cat, let alone 3 at once who did this. |

| DH and I have six cats and thankfully none of them tend to do this BUT I'm thinking if you want to change the food to the Sensitive Stomach type and still need a hairball remedy - have you ever tried to give them Petromalt? It's a "hairball helper." It helps with their digestive tract by removing existing hairballs and preventing new ones. We use it, when we can remember or when someone keeps coughing them up. Yum! LOL Here's a link with info about the product, but you can find it at any pet store or even most pet aisles in grocery stores/Target/Wal-Marts. Petromalt Hope it helps!
