| After 7 years-- my days as a Stay at Home Mom have come to an end! I quit teaching 7 years ago to be a stay at home mom. Friday, I go back to work as an RN. I am so grateful to this website for getting me through years with very little adult conversation. The last 3 years (when the kids were really doing alot at school, and I had gotten to really know many of the moms, and seeing them every day) were easier, but the early years were tough, and it was nice to be able to spend a few minutes here, and always have an to chat with-- whether it was about Disney or parenting or a question. It's really been great getting to know the wonderful people on this board! I can't believe my days as a SAHM are over, and my family is starting a new chapter! I'm very excited, but I've been really nostalgic of those early days of just me and the little guys--- Going to Gymboree and Moms Club events and playgroups. Can't believe how fast time flies! It was also an awakening to hear I have to wait a year before a vacation--- oh my gosh, no more Disney on a whim (since my husband can take vacation whenever--- he doesn't have to get approval).

| I went back to work after 9 years as a SAHM. My biggest issues were logistical - how to get the 4 kids to dance, scouts, religion, etc. Our life was better with the extra income, and worse because the house always seems like a mess. Kids adjusted just fine. Good luck !!

| There will be times you miss being a SAHM, but I have a feeling you're going to have lots of rewarding days as a nurse. I remember when you initially asked on these boards whether or not you should do this, & I've enjoyed "watching" you on your journey. You have so much to be proud of, Dina! You are an inspiration.
