I microwave my mugs pretty regularly, and have never had a problem with them.

I'm at Gallaudet University, the closest university to the washington mall!

*updated* I feel much better, but I got a wicked sore throat. but at least I don't feel yucky besides that! I'm also dehydrated at the moment, I'm gonna try to drink a lot of fluids today to help me recover quickly.

I'm so glad you are feeling better.

You inspired me! Your post really showed me how important it is to be able to keep a class going for those who might catch the bug. I just finished setting up an online backup class on the college's server (Blackboard), I trained my students yesterday on how to use it, and now, if they end up missing class, I can still move them forward with their final papers and term project so no one falls behind.

Then I told them if they are sick, stay home, and they can check the assignment and we can work online.

(Now, why do I think that I am going to have the only class with a dreadful rash of illness!)

lol, add a incentive for attending class in person, well something like 2.5 points extra credit per week, something minor but something they won't get on blackboard :P or something similar.

Oh, also keep in mind, when you're sick, the last thing you want to think about is your classes. when you ache all over you just want to be in bed. watching dvds. :P it'd still be useful when the student decides s/he needs another day off for recovery.
shame my classes doesn't offer that option at the moment, 2 major projects are due today and a major paper is due fri. Sigh

Yeh, I know what you are talking about, but you have NO idea how lucky you are to be sick in this day and age.

I have a nightmare memory of being home with the flu when I was a kid, and all that was on TV was Crusader Rabbit and Hilarious House of Frightenstein. No DVDs, no computer, .

Those were dark days.........but, back to you!

Have you called your profs to let them know what's up?
