I'm thinking the power of pixies might help. We have a weird situation. DS is missing his Biology textbook. It was quite expensive (as college textbooks can be) and we were excited that he'd be using it again for his second class instead of needing a new one. However, it's gone awol. He's searched his room at school (how well, I don't know...he tends to do a poor job of searching for stuff) which isn't all that big. I've looked at home and it's not here. Please send pixies that he finds it. I'm not relishing spending a fortune on a second copy (and I don't want to wait too long to order one if it never materializes) and I hate that he's had a week of classes and no book to read.
Oh no - I was really hoping Ryan would grow out of his losing things pahse (which has now lasted 3 years) but this doesn't give me much hope! I hope he finds it soon!!
I was pretty sure we'd put it away in his desk because it was 'valuable'. I didn't want to leave anything sitting around, not knowing if anyone would come into the room to clean or something over the break. I'm still hopeful that he's just zoned out and he'll find it, but.....
Gack. I just talked to him. It's not in the drawer, so either I remembered that wrong of someone took it. So, I've gone ahead and ordered him a new copy. I'm still crossing my fingers the original turns up, as we can sell it back to Amazon and make up most of the money I just had to lay out (again). So, keep the pixies coming folks.
This can be a problem on campus. Used books make for good pocket money and get stolen more often than you'd think. That's one benefit that E-books have. Even if you get your laptop stolen, you can still have access to them like you can with a Kindle or Nook. Liz's boyfriend had his calculus book stolen just before finals. Made it really difficult to study. Pixies that he finds it and you can recoop some of your money.
