Twinkie
About This Page: This is a discussion on Twinkie within the The Family Room: Family and Friends, part of the PassPorter Community - Boards & Forums on Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel; I usually am not a big fan of them but just had one that had chocolate cream filling.
was good...

I thought the Twinkie people went bankrupt, or sold the business to someone else, or something like that.
I'm not a Twinkie person, but give me a Devil Dog and I'm a happy girl!
Hostess filed for bankruptcy in January, but I haven't heard anything else about it since then. Don't know what's going on there, but for now they are still making the Twinkies.
I'm a Little Debbie girl myself....I could eat oatmeal creme pies for the rest of my life. That giant one in Honey I Shrunk the Kids movie always makes me !
Just because I just read that, I had to go and get one of my Weight Watchers cakes to eat. They are good but definitely not as good as a Twinkie!!!!!!!!

My wife would take a WW carrot cake over a twinkie any day
Chocolate filled Twinkies just sound wrong. I grew up going to the Twinkie factory as school field trips. I love them! I don't buy them very often. DD Lauren (14 years old) just told me the other day she didn't think she'd ever had one, and I think she's correct!
Not only chocolate filled but I just saw one the other day that was either lemon or banana filled (I know there was yellow on the box, just don't remember which flavor).
I don't know if they still have them but I had heard a few years ago, that there were chocolate COVERED Twinkies but they were only available on the west coast.
Like Teresa, when I grew up, we took a trip to the local Hostess Factory (which now believe it or not is an upscale mall with Neiman Marcus, etc) but I don't really care for the Twinkies anymore. They're not nearly as good as they use to be. I'm not sure if it's they taste different or if there is next to no cream inside but whatever the difference, it wasn't for the better.
