Can I ask for Pixies again? - UPDATED 4/21 in Post #78
Many of you know Lenny has health issues and he's had a few more since the beginning of the year. Back at the end of February (was it really that long ago now) he had a stress test and even before he had it, we both kind of felt he'd end up back at Mass General for another cardiac catheter to be done. We finally had the follow up appointment with the Cardiologist - whenever that was now (we've had so many appointments I can't keep track of them any longer) - and she just confirmed what we knew - that he'd be going in. Well the day for that is tomorrow. Neither one of us really knows what they're going to find as we both heard something different from the cardiologist. And just to confirm my suspicions that he's going to be spending the night, one of the things he has to do is bring along 24 hours worth of his meds. If Lenny comes home tomorrow I will be quite surprised, especially considering his symptoms. Of course too, if he does come home tomorrow, it will probably mean he needs more than just a stent. I really don't want to go there so I'm going to look on the "positive" side that he'll get another stent and just spend the night. But anyway, Pixies would be greatly appreciated (again). Thanks so much.

Lenny had his catheter yesterday morning and I was shocked. The doctor came out and said there was no blockages and everything looked good. Lenny was released, we finally made it home and had some dinner. Not long after dinner, Lenny came in the kitchen telling me I had to drive hime to the hospital, he was having a heart attack. I of course did no such thing, I called 911. Long story short, despite everything looking normal, the ER MD decided to admit Lenny for the night and after that, when they retested Lenny's enzyme levels, they came back elevated. They are saying Lenny did have a heart attack. Right now, he's still in the hospital and he was to have an echocardiogram. I haven't heard anything else from him (I'm obviously home if I'm on here) so I don't know if he's had it yet or not. I'll try and keep everyone posted though on how it's going but that's the news as of right now. His cath was fine yesterday morning but he suffered a heart attack last night.
When my Dad went in for this they also told him to bring meds for 24 hours and such. If he didn't need a stent done, he wasn't going to have to stay the night, just a short while for observation. He did have one done, though, so he had to stay the night so they could keep an eye on him and give him... I think... iv anti-clotting/blood thinning meds.

Yeah - this is Lenny's 3rd time going in for one. The first, the blockage wasn't big enough to "buy" him a stent (doctor or nurse's word, not ours). The second time, one blockage was big enough for a stent and the second blockage either couldn't be stented because of the size of the vein or because it was too close to the stent that did get placed - we really don't know which now (this happened a year and a half ago). Lenny had been on Plavix since the first time around but now because of the blood clot in his leg due to a baker's cyst, he's on Coumadin so I'm sure he's just going to continue that. Especially since the ultrasound he had done about a week and a half ago showed that the blood clot is still there. Supposedly it's smaller but it's still there.
Pixies for Lenny and for you. Telling him to bring 24 hours worth of his meds may just be a way to make sure he has them, in case. Hope all turns out well for you both.
