I go to pick up DS from college next Thursday afternoon (May 3). I can't believe he's already put in a year at school. He'll start his summer job at the pool the following week.
When do the rest of you with kids in college bring your kids home?
Enjoy having him home for the summer. Seems like once they hit high school the time just flies by, doesn't it? My oldest is already 28, and I don't think he even came home for the summer after his Sophomore year. Seems he got a job, lived in the fraternity house, met a girl, etc

I visit WDW for the peace and quiet, it's the only week each year that my kids don't fight and argue with each other, ahhh!
I pick up my DD on May 3 also. She's taking 3 summer classes at our local state University, and she's still looking for a job. This year has gone so quickly!
We pick DD up on May 5. She just finished her first year, but she finishes with enough credits, she's finishing up her Sophomore year!
My nephew is finishing his freshman year - and has a final on Saturday evening!
Seems like they've been gone forever, but also that they just left yesterday. One of our nieces graduates from IU on Saturday the 6th. Wasn't it just last week I went to her high school graduation?
My kids, both finishing Freshman year at Syracuse, will finish late in the afternoon on May 8th. We will stay overnight in Syracuse on the 8th, and begin the caravan (2 cars, 2 kids) home on the 9th. They will head to their summer camp to work as lifeguards again this summer in the middle of June. It was a fantastic year for both!!
May 3rd must be a big day. Lizzie has her last final that day and she'll be home. She is very grateful that she will not have to live with THAT GIRL any more (she has had a real PIG for a roommate this year). But she is looking forward to a great summer (with a Disney cruise right in the middle) with a job hopefully. Finals still loom large next week, so that's where the focus is right now.
My DS17 finishes up his freshman year at Purdue, with his last exam also on Thursday. We'll be happy to have him home! It seems such a short time since we took him there for orientation, but it also feels like a long time since he was living here full time--go figure.
He'll be taking Calculus II at a local university until June 23rd, but he'll be home.

My S is probably the last one to come home - he's on the quarter system. He comes home June 9th. Then I'll blink and D will leave for her first year on Aug. 16th!
DS also finishes next week. He's fortunate to have lined up a job with a local contractor for the summer. Learning a trade will be a good balance after hitting the books his freshman year.

Great idea. I had to giggle though, Liz has interviewed with Victoria Secrets for her summer job. Working retail is great experience, and selling skivies is definitly a challenge.
I know what you mean! DS comes home next weekend--one year down! He will be taking a summer course at his school (it's only 15 min away), then working at a sleepaway camp for 6 weeks, home for a week, then back to school! Sigh...time really does fly...

I brought my DD home last Monday, 4/23. She's home until this Saturday, then it's back to Ann Arbor for a summer job, where she'll also participate in a 2 month training program with her church to help become a better leader with in the church and the community.
She just finished her Sophomore year! Talk about time flying I can hardly believe she'll already be a Junior when school starts in the fall .
