DS (the sailor) is coming home on leave in 3 weeks... We haven't seen him for just about a year. So we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving/Christmas with a turkey.......St. Pat's with corned beef and cabbage.....and Easter with a ham. He will be here for Memorial Day...so we'll add some 4th of July with that, a cook-out, of course. I can't wait to cook, bake and "celebrate" with him, again. He'll be home for about 3 weeks.
Sounds like a plan. It's wonderful that you get to see him for so long. Hope you really enjoy it! I can't imagine what it's like, I miss DD Kathryn like crazy and she's just 2 hours away at university. Thank you again, for your son's service.
How exciting! I'm not sure when we will see DS again, sometime in the fall, I suspect. We haven't seen him since last June, so almost a year. It's amazing how we look forward to those times so much. Right now, I'm just excited that he should be in port this week and will call sometime. Enjoy every holiday along the way!
Great plan!!! We did that with DS1 as well! Our neighbors thought we were crazy putting up the Christmas tree, (we didn't do the outside decorations) but when we told them why, some of our neighbors baked him Christmas treats!
