Does your child or children like to dress up? I ask bc Landon (4yrs old) loves it! over memorial weekend we found him three halloween costumes at our disney outlet for $11 & $14. He has always loved to dress up in his old halloween costumes & play pretend. He will keep the costume on as long as I let him, when the avengers movie came out he went w/DH & my DDad to the movies in his full captain america costume. This past Friday we went to Toys R Us & Landon had been watching Spiderman & was in full costume, of course he didn't want to change & DH wasn't to excited about taking him out in his costume. I told DH it was fine & just let him go that way. In the car DH told me it was kind of embarassing & that really upset me. I told him that Landon better not hear him say that bc the main reason I let him dress up and I see no harm in letting him wear his costume as long as we aren't going someplace like church or to something formal. I thinks its good to let kids express themselves early on (as long as its something harmless) I want him not to be afraid of what other ppl think and to feel free to be himself.
With all that being said it made me wonder if other ppls kids like to dress up or even like to wear their costumes or outfits they picked out on their own out?
Landon loves to pick out his own clothes and they don't always match lol but I think thats the part of the fun of letting them grow into their own person.

My DD never dressed up. Not even at Disneyland where we went several times a month. Never liked playing dress up. Now stuffed animals, that is another story. Always carried animal with her at all times.

When my DD was little, she loved dressing like a princess, especially Cinderella. She started picking out her clothes as soon as she could express herself. She always wanted to wear a dress, so one of the first phrases I remember her saying is "no pants!."
My son loved any kind of hat that made him into someone else when he was little. The rest of the outfit really didn't matter much. We did have a knight's outfit, a cowboy outfit and a cape that did get used some, but it was the hats that he loved.
My DD was less of one to dress up. One problem is that so many of the girl's outfits are itchy. She had a Cinderalla dress and a Jasmine outfit, but hardly wore them outside of Halloween.

oh Landon loves stuffed animals as well, but then I was the same way when I was little. He carries DUFFY bear every where with him.

my mom said I used to like to dress up but only for a little while bc I would always complain that the outfits or costumes were "too scratchy"
My DDs never really did - but DD Samantha's godson is 7 and I don't think he's gone more than 2 days since he was 2 years old without dressing up. He frequently wears superhero costumes under his regular clothing.
I loved to dress up when I was little! DS(11) not so much, but oh well. I don't see any harm in it as long as the costume is not inappropriate (ie dressing like Britney Spears or something). I personally think it would be adorable to see a little boy out at the store or somewhere who was dressed up as Spiderman. Let kids be fun and carefree....I mean, he's not hurting anyone ya know? He's just having fun.

My DD was never into dressing up. But her doll... different story. The doll is in every photo from our first two trips to Disney World.
And she never went through that changing clothes stage either. Her friend across the street would wear 5 outfits between breakfast and bedtime. That would have driven me nuts.
Even now, at 12, my DD would rather sleep in an extra 5 minutes and have me pick out her clothes for school!
my 5 year old granddaughter LOVES dressing up, especially as the princesses...my grandson will if his sister is, but doesn't so much on his own. Now my granddaughter is picking out her clothes on weekends (not for school) and to say some of her outfits are a little, um, out there, is a little mild. Yesterday she had on a pink and blue polka dotted top, neon pink leggings and a black net tutu with her Ariel shoes. That was a little tame.

haha that is too cute! DS doesn't pick out his clothes for school but now that its summer he wants to be in PJs or a Costume all day. Sometimes his outfits of choice are a bit out there as well.
gonna be 8 in August has loved to dress up since he was 2! It started with Batman and Spiderman, Transformers, and Star Wars, but lately it is wrestling masks. He will wear them in public if we let him, he doesn't care, HA!
When he was 4-5 he and his dad were in a group that wore professional ( and very expensive might I add) Star Wars costumes, and the group (including Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and the whole lot) went to movies premiers, etc. and also raised money for child cancer.
