Just spent this weekend booking our next Alaskan cruise, sadly not Disney, but still Alaska. No one else in the family gets Disney like me, and I can't really argue the finances. We are sailing Celebrity this time-Seward to Vancouver. For just about the same money as Disney, we also added a 6 night pre-tour package that goes from Fairbanks to Denali, Talkeetna, Anchorage, Alyeska and a Kenjai fjord cruise. No complaints from me. If the Navy and other jobs cooperate, DS and his wife and DD and her new husband (in 3 weeks) will be joining us for the cruise portion of the trip. I am so excited!
My parents, my mom's best friend and spent two weeks in Alaska in June 2006. We did a week cruise and then spent a week going up through Denali and up across the Arctic Circle. We went on Holland America and we had a blast. I would love to go again.

AWESOME!!!! If you want any tips I can point you in the right direction for Seward, Anchorage/South Central areas! PM me! (born and raised and still livin' here)
Congrats! We sailed from Seward to Vancouver on Royal Carribean. Definitely worth it (make sure to do a Kenai Fjords cruise in Seward)! We were just talking yesterday about going back to Alaska next year for vacation, although we wouldn't do the cruise, just a land tour by ourselves!
Congratulations! We've done 3 RCL Seward to Vancouver cruises and loved every minute of them. I actually prefer RCL over Disney for Alaska becasue RCL ships have soooo much more viewing areas
Thanks, guys! Toni, I may be touching bases with you. We are pretty much booked in each of those towns through the pre cruise tour. There are several tours included in the package.
Marni, I went back and skimmed your trip report yesterday, since I remembered you did a lot of this before your cruise. The Kenji Fjord cruise is included in the package and I am so excited about that especially. Did you ever find a laundromat in Seward? I'm expecting to need some laundry done before we get on the ship, since Celebrity, like Royal Car. doesn't have self serve laundry facilities. I'm not really eager to pay $1.95 to get a pair of socks washed by them!
Toni, ididarod is not on our tours. I think we have some free time in Seward, but am not sure. I'll check into that.
Terri, I've been following your trip report and, yes, waiting for an update!
