I feel so bad for my little one UPDATED!!!!!!! in thread #16
My youngest is 9 and loves vball and theatre. She has been counting down to our Summer theatre program since Feb. I didn't have the money for her to do the summer shows last year so she was super excited to be able to do Beauty and the Beast this summer.
Well, she has come home upset almost everyday since it started last Monday. Friday and this Monday she was so upset over the behavior of two of the girls in her group that she was almost inconsolable. I guess these girls don't want to hit their marks and are making it very hard on my daughter. She has talked to them, others in the cast have talked with them and they won't stop. We stayed up till midnight Monday running through scenarios and she was ok going back on Tuesday.
Well she came home yesterday saying she said something one of the camp directors and they just said her part would be replaced or removed entirely if the situation didn't get fixed. It isn't her fault and she now hates the play, doesn't want to go back, and is losing her love of theatre!
I am calling this morning even though she doesn't want me to and hopefully for the last 4 days things will get better and she can have fun. But she needs some pixies if you can send them her way.

Poor thing. DD Kathryn always took it to heart when others didn't hit their marks or learn their lines. It took years before she really embraced what I kept telling her "You can only control what you do and whether YOU give a good performance." Unfortunately, directors seem to punish the squeaky wheel - I hope your DD doesn't lose her spot - although since you PAID for this, I think you have some leverage, but of course, so do the rest of the kids/parents.
Pixies for your DD. I hope this turns out to be a wonderful performance for her and a great memory.
